Honestly, starting something new can be daunting but I decided to take a leap of faith and explore something I’d never had any experience in but had always been fascinated by. Being a complete newbie to the doula world and not having had my own children I felt I needed to find a in-depth course that would prepare me to enter someones birth space. Alex has made sure that this course covers pretty much everything birth related and when you start attending births you are mentored meaning you are totally prepared to support your clients through those births! There are masterclasses on specific subjects taught by people in those fields, biweekly zoom meetings and a practical skills weekend. Alex really has covered everything in this course.

Learn from the best! This course makes you feel totally prepared to be a Doula, with the ability to understand and embrace cultural humility in your work. Cannot recommend this course enough.I've also done the OBC From Fertility course, cowritten and delivered with Hari from WeWomb. It's an incredible addition to the learning from the OBC. As a Doula I can now expand my practice to support anyone who is trying to become pregnant, whether through physiological methods or reproductive technologies.

Alex at The Original Birth Connection offers a comprehensive training programme to support you on a journey to becoming a Doula. The educational content is balanced by regular course discussion to explore your views, opinions and learn with your peers.If you are thinking of becoming a Doula but wondering how you can fit it into your everyday life, Alex has thought of this as well. The learning is set at your own time with online modules and also in person skills practice days so you can continue your learning with hands on practice and meet the Doula's you have been learning with. When you have finished the modules, Alex continues to support you through mentoring as you support clients through their birth and postnatal period.I'd highly recommend training with Alex to become a Doula.

Alex's support through my first pregnancy saw me go into labour feeling positive, informed and prepared; so when I got pregnant second time round I was excited to find she'd started antenatal classes! The classes could not have been more helpful. Alex is very knowledgeable but also went out of her way to find informative, balanced resources if ever there were any queries that needed further research. It was great to be able to recap and discuss things I'd learnt first time round, as well as learn new things and be supported in new ways- and all in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Meeting other expectant mum's and being able to share experiences, swap advice and build friendships was also really special.
