Disappointed with the the customer service manager patrick gave at the store. i popped in store within 24hrs of purchasing an highchair to request a exchange as when i unboxed the product i was left with a damaged used second hand product i was shocked with the item that i had brought as it was not what i expected, went in store and showed them the item that came out of the box but patrick (manager) was shouting and was not bothered to help out at all and didn’t believe that was the product although i had my receipt of the purchase and did explain the whole situation he fobbed me off his head and did not give me any solution and walked off. Although he said they can only refund or exchange if it was damaged I clearly stated the item was damaged and used he still wasnt bothered to even look at the product and didnt do anything

Would give 0 stars if possible. NEVER buy electronics from any Smyths! I had bought a PS5 from them before and it had been a pleasant experience but I recently bought a Nintendo switch oled and when I opened it I found finger prints on the screen and one of the controllers were having an intermittent fault. I took it to the store and they wouldn’t let me return it. Any other company Amazon, curry’s, Argos would have taken it back no questions asked. They told me to contact Nintendo about my issue and Nintendo told me that Smyths should be the one to deal with this problem and could not understand why they wouldn’t issue a refund. I only bought the switch from Smyths because it was £10 cheaper- it is NOT worth it spend that extra £10 for a decent service an knowledge that if you’re not happy with your product you can return it.

A paradise of toys for young and old alike. Massive warehouse sized store with huge range of toys and games for indoor and outdoor use. Fantastic brands and some really good discounts to be had. If only the tills were better manned it would just complete the experience in a more pleasing way.

Click & Collect was smooth up till the point when I tried to leave the store with the toy. I was stopped by the security guard and referred me back to the cashier even with my receipt shown on my phone. How embarrassing!!! What’s the point of click & collect? Train your staff to read a receipt on the phone please or do something about your click & collect flow. What a joke.

I brought this highchair and once opened up the box i was devastated to see a second hand used high chair sold in a box. I took it back to the shop and they refused to exchange or take a refund and left me with that used product with i paid for.

My partner both a Safety dart board on Saturday 8th April 2023 to give as a present. Present was handed over on Easter Sunday 9th April. Guess what darts were missing from the board. Jokes were made that she probably used the dart board and forgot to put the darts back in. She did not find it funny and was embarrassed.Symths Reading Retail Gate branch Website says they are open Easter Sunday. Called store 5 rimes to double check this is true as Easter. No-one answered - were they too busy to answer? which meant she had to drive to get a replacement. Guess what Store was NOT OPEN. Waste of a journey there and back.Wish I could give minus 1

Excellent toy store with variety of stuff for everyone. They have amazing funko, wwe and lego collections.Price Range is a bit expensive though

Don't go here if you want anything done quickly, slow staff, standing around doing nothing while one person is on the till. I can see what looked like the manager just standing at the door on his phone not caring about anything. Try to avoid buying from here and if you have to just pay for delivery.

An excellent toys and game stores for all the children and of course for the adults too. The ambience is great with well lit and neatly displayed good on ver well organised shelves. The staffs are helpful and knowledgeable.

I was at the Smyths store on a weekend and I was surprised of how Management was treating the staff. There was one bloke, Andy who was touching himself in front of one of his employees and he was also shouting at a customer, as if the customer does not know any better. I feel so sorry for the staff and I hope the company notes this and teaches the management on how to behave properly. However, the store has a good selection of toys and games and generally the staff were helpful.
