If u haven't played it its a must although its rather expensive the duel in the sun history makes the Ailsa course probably the most iconic course in Scotland although the 2nd course the Bruce formerly the Kintore is a magnificent course in its own right and u have the 9 hole course the arran which is an enjoyable but testing course and once again the staff are very accommodating and go out their way to help u

The Ailsa is everything I expected and more. We played in a 3 club wind and the challenges were ever present but not insurmountable. Fairways and greens in great condition. Greens slow but it is March. Therefore we didn't get the full test of fast greens, run offs and swales. The scenery is fantastic. The fairway bunkering creates all sorts of decisions off the tee. Got a glimpse of an open venue off short tees. Go back to the plates and see the real test! Was delighted to break 80 here. Want to come back. Not sure we can afford it!

Absolute luxury and no doubt if you have a spare few thousand pounds disposable just sitting in your account doing nothing.Most definitely not somewhere to consider if you are working within a budget.

Excellent staff, lovely food, golf set up top notch practice facilities. Played KRTB course, quite a challenge in the wind however wonderful day.
