Have used this wine company for several years and have been very impressed with the service provided and the quality of the wines. Delivery is prompt with delivery information provided with regular updates. For price and quality they’re hard to beat!

I was introduced to the company as I subscribe to The Spectator. I got one of their mixed case offers and will be re-ordering another.I live within 200 yards of Majestic but find their selections confusing and dominated by 'savings' and the feeling that the staff are incentivised to push them. I am not influenced by what I can 'save' but whether I will want to buy more of the wine recommended.I will be a regular with Vineyard Direct until I get too many bad suggestions. But - so far so good.

I'm further editing this review down to 1 star. Wine I ordered in June has now been promised 15 times for delivery and failed 15 times - for one of their basic wines that is in stock. Ridiculous and appalling that a company can be this incompetent.I'm editing this review after months of hassle and missed delivery promises. Whilst the wine is excellent, and excellent value, the support staff and the warehouse staff let the side down badly. As I type, I'm still waiting for wine I ordered in June. I won't go into the details but numerous phone calls have passed and today is the fourth day I have waited in vain for the wine, because of promises made. It's clearly unacceptable and a terrible way of doing business. They are always very polite and apologetic but don't seem to have any means of actioning any promises made - plus no records of what has been said before.Previous review:FVD is now my go to place for both affordable wine and mid-range wine. There really is no need to pay more than £10 per bottle when FVD have superb choices at that level which beat anything from a supermarket at £15-£20. And at twice that price point they have stunning wines that knock the spots off £50 bottles from elsewhere.Obviously given their heritage, the real strength is in Bordeaux and, to me, there seems little point in looking further, whether it’s red, white or sweet.

The wines From Vineyards Direct team have always been wonderful with often unusual varieties. They have long since resolved their delivery problems so please do support them, your reward will be delicious and interesting wines. You can trust them.

I am a great annoyance to my brother and sister-in-law, because I live abroad and order wines to be delivered to them ready for my return. The great thing is that I have forgotten what I have ordered and it's like Christmas when we visit, because there are a range of wines in the garage to collect and drink and share on our travels visiting friends and family! Great service, easy ordering and fast delivery (even 0645 - thankfully, I was the other side of the world at the time!). Really great value wines, if I could afford it I would purchase more ..................

I have been dealing with From Vineyards Direct since soon after it was founded. It is probably the best wine merchant in the UK. The wines are expertly sourced and are always excellent value for money. I have recommended it to many friends, who have a similarly high opinion of them. Superb.

I have used this company several times in the past, pre 2018 the service was very good but last year as many of the below reviews attest to it was a complete disaster and I promised myself I would never use them again. However, having read in thedrinksbusiness.com that it was now under new ownership having gone into administration last year & because their range and prices remain very competitive I decide to give them one last chance and am very glad I did. The wines arrived in exactly the 2-3 days promised on the website, well packed & with a nice new inventory card reminding me of everything on the order. They certainly delivered on their new customer pledge and I'm pleased to say I will recommend them to friends again and only hope they bring back the Garrus to complete their range of Chateau d'Esclans Roses.

I have used Vineyards Direct for many years. Their wines are good, well-chosen and reasonably priced. The service is often slow and this year was a disaster. Christmas wines ordered at the beginning of December did not arrive until the 28th when all my guests had gone. Various communications from FVD but no real explanation or apology. This means that I will not be using them again. BB

Would like to be writing a good review here as I have had some superb wines from here over the years. Something has gone badly wrong in the past year - like many others sad to report orders do not arrive, promises are broken. Sounds like they sell what they hope to be able to provide in due course, and in a great many cases there are long delays without warning. And no communication, warnings, apologies or refunds.

Used to be a great company but they went into administration and were purchased by Johnny Wheeler. This enabled Esme Johnson and David Campbell(founders) to save face by pretending they had merged with Mr Wheeler Wines. The reality is they went into administration and Mr Wheeler purchased the company through an asset purchase taking the name, two founders, any stock and most of the customers over. Anyone who was a creditor, which included loyal customer due En-Primeur wines, were left in the cold. There was some attempt to get some of the wines to customers and I received some of it but by no means all. Clearly money paid in good faith for them had not been protected and had been used to keep the struggling business afloat. Paypal insurance covered a bit but I am till due over £1000 of en primeur wines. Recent attempts to get an answer from them have been ignored and obviously the administrators dont care about the smaller creditors. I am particularly annoyed because their website claimed that all en-primeur purchases were insured and they were not, a blatant lie on their part. If you look at the current website the same claim is made with the same wording and you can be sure that any en-primeur you order will not be covered. I thought they were good guys and a great little niche company but when it came to the crunch they were quite happy to shaft their best customers. Go elsewhere, especially if buying en-primeur.
