Heartlands Care & Nursing Home - Country Court
The home is lovely and everything about it is either good or great, apart from the receptionist Clare. Very unpleasant woman, and despite our continued friendliness she is insufferably abrasive. Otherwise, we are impressed with the home's care and, most importantly, our family member there is happy with it :)

I feel pushed into writing this review, following the failings at this home. One of my close family relatives are currently here, to which I am ashamed to say. Please find a breakdown of the issues listed below:1. Staff – All of the staff I have seen upon every visit have not been doing their job, in supporting and helping the residents. The staff use the day room as there own personal space to go on there phones and talk amongst there self, ignoring many of the residents unless they “Have Too”. We put our trust (and money) into this home when putting our loved ones in here to be looked after, and to see this is really not acceptable.2. Missing Items – Just like many other reviews on here, we have experienced missing items on every visit, even down to labelled clothing which clearly states who they belong to, and is never looked into properly, therefore leading the item to be classed as lost.Other larger forms of items seem to also go missing such as wheelchairs, which are misplaced. When approaching a staff member to ask for where the residents wheelchair is, the response we get is “we had to put it in a room”. The staff then makes no effort to look for it, unless we pester them until we get a response.3. Unattended situations – Again, like many other reviews state, we also have an issue with situations where we have seen residents unattended, and accidents have nearly happened. One instance is just after Christmas, when we had extremely cold weather. We witnessed a relative being pushed outside for some fresh air, and almost forgotten about, as it took 15 minutes for a member of staff to bring them back in.4. General Care – Upon getting to know a few of the other residents in the home, I have heard many occasions from the residents themselves where the correct care has not been given. This ranges from being handled a little too rough, to cream not being applied as the carers cannot be bothered.I think a review should be conducted, from both an internal sector, and an external sector to ensure this home is up to standards, as looking at the reviews, this home has been failing so many for the last 12 months.

Unsure who it is but you get staff walking round with dirty nappies in their hands without a nappy bag and the fact that flat 2 had 10 parcels come a day and flat 3 has a strong wee smell. Do not recommend

My experience of this care home is not a good one, the home itself is well decorated and looks nice but the main part , caring for your loved one is not up to the standard it should be , especially as this is a home that gives nursing care . My Nan was failed by so many things , from wrong medication being given to unwitnessed falls not being monitored to staff not having adequate training on dealing with diabetes and dementia but most importantly they failed with my Nan's end of life care leading her to be in pain which no one should have to go through . This home needs more training for its staff , especially the management team.no family should have to watch a loved one go through what ours did , anyone looking to make that hard decision of putting a loved one in to a care home please read reviews , ask questions and be sure they can take care of your family the way you would, which this homes states it will do but in our case they did not . Please don't comment under my post with the same message as others as the email address you have given does not work so my only option was too write this review .

This review is from care received in 2020.I concur with all the bad reviews of that time, including receiving my deceased mother's belongings (shoved at me as I waited outside the door) containing half a dozen items of clothing that were not even hers. Missing a number of items that I had packed. As it was during covid, I wasn't allowed to see her before she was transferred to the hospital and subsequently passed away. Each time I (and 3 other family members) phoned the care home, the phone was answered by a cleaner or helper on a different floor and refused (or didn't know how) to transfer the call.We had very little updates and were constantly phoning trying to get information. Stacey was helpful but it wasn't enough to allay our fears.

My mother has been a resident at Heartlands Care Home for over 2 years now and from day one I have been extremely pleased with how she is looked after there. She now has advanced dementia but the way that the staff handle her is wonderful. She is included in day to day activities and I feel that she is still made to feel valued despite her limitations. Visiting has been handled well with safety of residents and staff a key priority during covid lockdown but it is now good that we can again visit our loved ones. All in all it is a wonderful place for mom to spend her twilight years. Thank you to all who make it so nice.

I find it hard to write this as it’s distressing and brings back horrible memories. However I have to tell people our experience as a family of this home is a negative one. The home looks lovely but unfortunately looks can be deceiving. The home has poor management, not all the staff are adequately trained to deal with dementia or patients with diabetes. There were numerous errors in medication, falls not reported and many basic procedures not followed. But my main concern would be the end of life care that my relative received, it was inadequate and no person should ever have to suffer how she did. She was written up for a syringe driver so that she would not be in pain and suffer. This syringe driver was never put in place, so we witnessed her suffer and to be honest no one was there to really help. The night staff on shift slept whilst we were caring for our dying relative. This is inexcusable. If you are considering a nursing home for your relative, I would advise you to ask lots of questions. Talk to relatives of current residents, talk to relatives of ex residents and don’t just assume because a building looks nice that everything will be ok.The hardest decision we had to make was to even have have to consider a nursing home but there was no another choice, and now we are left with so many what if ? questions that this home have left unanswered to this day.

Heard from a friend, who's husband recently died there....a nurse left her husband lying on the floor when he had a fall....care sounded terrible and one particular nurse , who left after this incident (apparently she is not well liked and is very rude to people), is now back working there.

Hello, I visited Heartland for the first time today to see a relative.I wanted to say how impressed I was with the cleanliness of Heartlands, and how cool and airy the building internally is.I enjoyed seeing the various rooms on offer, and activities available for residents. For example the ' pub room' and cinema room.I was exceptionally happy with the members of staff who were curious and offering a good choice of meal and dessert for my relative .And how polite and happy they were.I read the cqc report when I got home for heartlands and I do feel that after today visits the Heartlands care home in opinion should be re'Rated as 3- 5.My initial visiting time was that I randomly turned up to see my relative but staff were polite and as I was unaware of visit times, I was still able to visit.Overall I am happy that my relative is here, my relative is new in heartlands and I am confident his care needs will be met.Staff are very responsive and overall what a lovely place.

It was a worrying moment when my mother-in-law reached the stage of needing to go into care, but we had no reason to worry because we were fortunate enough to obtain a place for her at Heartlands Care Home and, since she moved in at start of 2022, I find I can't, in all honesty, sing the praises of Heartlands Care Home loud enough to warrant what they deserve. The care and compassion they show to her is amazing, they are so patient with her. The staff are brilliant, all of them seem very commited to their positions within the home. Communication is excellent, they keep me updated with any new developments in her health and care, so I remain involved in decision making as to what is best for her wellbeing. The activities for those able to join in are well thought out, I can see from the Facebook photographs that everyone enjoys the many events organised to keep them entertained.I highly recommend Heartlands to anyone wanting their loved ones to be safe and happy. My thanks to all staff.
