Excellent service by this practice. I am always amazed by their quick turnaround and caring attitude. I've been given a same day appointment numerous times and even got called in within hours of booking an appointment.

If I could give zero stars I would give zero stars. It is no exaggeration when I say that my experience at this doctor surgery has poisoned my relationship with medics and health officials, and scarred me for life. no shade at all the the receptionists- they were always nice.I had bad stomach pain for months, and was speaking on the phone to nhs 111 and to the gp about a sharp pain that came and went in my stomach that began around the beginning of October. I made a minimum of 3 phone calls describing the stomach pain, and was told it was likely trapped wind. Come January, my stomach was very distended and extremely painful. I went in to the GP and told them that although I lived around the corner I couldn't walk to the doctors because of the pain in my stomach, and although I was hardly able to eat anything, my stomach had grown large and swollen. I was examined and told that I didn't have an appendicitis; the doctor (female, long blonde hair) sent me home and told me to drink lots of water/ take ibuprofen. During the next week I had a severe fever, my teeth were clacking uncontrollably and the pain prevented me from sleeping, I called the GP to update them and they said they thought I had a contagious bug and ought to stay home. I began vomiting and it got to a point where I could no longer keep down water. I called NHS 111 because I felt I might need fluids intravenously and they offered to send an ambulance. I was surprised and told them I had been assured at my GP that this was no emergency. I took a taxi to the hospital and was admitted with a ruptured appendix and a large abscess that burst just hours after I had arrived in the hospital and begun receiving antibiotics through an IV. I had sepsis and an acute peritonitis, and was told that if the 650 ml of pus in my abscess had leaked while I was at home I likely would have died. I still cannot enter hospitals without crying and I no longer trust doctors at all. When I returned to the GP for some unrelated problem a few months later, by chance I had the same doctor. I asked her if she remembered sending me home assuring me I didn't have an appendicitis and all that she said was yes. No apology, no feeling, literally like she didn't care at all. I was so upset, that had been the most painful time of my life and the whole experience has caused real lasting damage physically and emotionally.I would like to say that the cutting of corners when it comes to administering blood tests is not saving the health service money. Compare the cost of blood test and a lapriscopic operation to a three week stay in the hospital, with food goop that was fed to me through a tube to my heart, six hours in the operating theatre, and months of being slowly weaned off pain medication. To say nothing of the emotional costs.I recently got a new GP, after years of not using mine because it felt like a truly pointless service. I only kept on with them to receive prescriptions for asthma medication, but could never see myself going there again for a problem that I needed them to help figure out, the trust was totally broken.

I have been a member of this practice for 16 years and they are fantastic. Great Doctors who really care about their patients. I am so lucky and grateful that I am being given the best care this practice provides. A special mention to current female Drs Comiskey and trainee Dr Barraclough.

Shame I can't give zero stars. Rude reception and not great to care nor service. Every single time I have been here I have waited over 30 mins- today because I was 6 mins late they refused to see me. I wouldn't have been called for sometime going on past experience but the surgery love to be awkward. Never get the same doctor twice but the rubbish service is always guaranteed

Fast and efficient. Called in the morning (8:15am) and got through immediately. GP called back an hour later and was asked to come in for 11:30 on the same day. Staff were all very nice and easy to engage with.

Having just had to deal with another medical practice on behalf of my mother, I am suddenly aware of how efficient Conan Doyle Medical Centre at Cameron Toll is. At this other place (in Edinburgh) you have to phone up at 8am to the minute if you want any chance of getting an appointment and if you try to arrange a phone consultation you have to wait more than two weeks. I always seem to get an appointment with the doctor or the nurse as required with Conan Doyle and the everyone seems very personable.
