Attended the half day sausage making course today with Paul at Garlic Wood Farm Butchery which I thoroughly enjoyed.A fantastic hands on course learning how to make a sausage from the importance of high quality ingredients to the tricky linking process.I would highly recommend this course to anyone who 'loves a sausage' and is interested in where their food comes from.

Great day learning about Lamb butchery and getting fully hands-on. Paul is a very good (and patient) teacher that takes the time to ensure that you understand what you need to do and you work from carcass down to small cuts and joints ready for cooking. We left with cuts of meet all weighed Anand vacuum packed ready for the freezer. The breakfast rolls are welcoming and the homemade lunch is superb and what you need after a morning butchery. Great value and we will be back for more courses.

The Garlic Wood Farm Butchery
I recently took the full day pork butchery course at Garlic Wood Butchery. Paul is a fantastic teacher and is clearly very passionate about butchery. I've come away with some new found skills and a rather large bag of pork - should keep me happy for quite a while!I'd highly recommend the course to anyone with an interesting in cooking, it's great to see where the familiar cuts come from and it gives you a real appreciation for high quality food products.

Simply wonderful. We ordered a 2.5 kg top rump roasting joint for a very special family occasion and it was absolutely perfect. Paul gave me advice on how to cook it and it turned out exactly as I had hoped. Five stars aren’t really enough! Thank you so much Paul.

The Garlic Wood Farm Butchery
Very happy to have found Garlic Wood Farm. This is my second time ordering a box and I'm very satisfied with the packaging, the delivery and most importantly the meat quality. I am no meat expert (I have only very recently introduced non-ground red meat into my diet) but you can truly see and smell the difference. I used to buy grass-fed from the grocery store but it does not even come close (I mean the difference in color alone is quite telling). I am now ordering a huge box every 1-2 months or so - and it makes my life so much easier in terms of meal prep knowing that I always have quality meat in my freezer.

So pleased to have discovered this place. I now get almost all my meat from here. Local, free range and amazing flavour. Good value too. I love that i can get the old fashioned cuts of meat like ham hocks which helps keep the budget down. Also using all of the animal such as the bone marrow which is amazing added to homemade burgers. Can we have some Garlic wood black pudding please!?

We recently received our first box as we wanted to switch to very high welfare meat and are passionate about regenerative farming and biodiversity. It was all amazing. We enjoyed the slow raised chicken for Sunday lunch and it was the best we have ever tasted. I used to buy Organic Free Range at Waitrose and for a very small increase in price, we had much more meat that was far tastier and more filling. Also Paul's communication over email is excellent & is very helpful and friendly. Thanks very much, will recommend to friends & family.

Absolutely fantastic course, if you have interest in knowing where your food comes from then this course will really interest you as it did I. The tuition is superb, never a moment where you are standing around doing nothing, Its very hands, Paul is obviously very passionate and knowledgable about his profession which shows.Breakfast and lunch is provided, as you may expect its good quality food.I completed the Pork course and returned home with a a selection of pork joints and 'curing' bacon. I'm most definitely returning to complete the sausage course very soon.Great value compared to other courses i've attended.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the butchery course (and delicious produce) at Garlic Wood Farm to anyone who is interested in learning or simply loves cooking or preparing their own food from scratch. I was gifted the lamb butchery day at Garlic Wood Farm as a very welcome birthday present and when I attended the course last week, I had a truly enjoyable day along with three friendly livestock owners where we all learned and practised solid butchery skills, completely breaking down a whole lamb into individual, neatly tied joints. Communication was timely and comprehensive and Paul was an excellent host, plying us with home grown bacon rolls and delicious coffee when we arrived and fantastic beef hot pot for lunch, followed by wonderful home-made scones and clotted cream - yum! He took us through the whole process of lamb butchery skillfully and with great patience, explaining and demonstrating, then supervising as each of us followed his lead. He understands his craft very well and is passionate about helping others to learn, answering any question and helping/correcting as necessary. I came away proudly bearing some delicious different cuts of the lamb and with lovely memories of a great day. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable experience Paul, I'm looking forward to returning for your pork butchery day with a friend very soon.
