Amberley Lodge Care Home - Care UK

Appalling!!My dear mother spent three months on the nursing floor of this 'care home'. I was fortunate enough to live close by to be able to pop in regularly. This is what I personally witnessed:Numerous trip hazardsMisadministration of medicationLack of personal careCarers asleep on dutyCarers preventing residents from leaving the loungeVerbal abuseLack of empathy to residents.When our family raised my concerns, I was basically called a liar (what could I possibly achieve by making things up!!?) and eventually told that the home, could no longer meet our families expectations" and we were given 28 days notice to leave!!??The Home Manager

I thought I should give another view of the care home. My mother has been here now for 6 months. During that time my wife and I have visited many times per week. My bother, Daughters, granddaughters have also visited. We all think its a good home with caring staff and have never witnessed any issues to date. Mums care has been good and we have been kept informed all the time. It isnt as flashy" as some other care homes

Just left here after a wonderful Diwali party: fantastic!! Good n fireworks plus dancing.

My mother was a resident at Amberley Lodge Care Home, Purley for a year. The care home has a happy atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. A range of varied events to entertain residents are held throughout the year. The staff who looked after my mother were kind and caring and they all did their very best for her. Despite the challenges that my mother's dementia presented, the staff were considerate and understanding throughout. It was a great comfort to know that my mother was cared for so well

The nurses who work here have a culture of harrasing the carers , Some of the senior care assistant are rude, even the males cares who have been there for over 5years are trouble some. There is a trouble. Nursing homes are terrible places to work in.many of this homes are not fit for purpose.

Amberley Lodge is an excellent nursing home, and my mother is a resident . The entire managers and staff are very friendly and helpful, and I would recommend them to families and friends.
