National Trust - Steam Yacht Gondola

The golden age of steam is very much still alive on Steam Yacht gondola, we had a great trip around Coniston water, the commentary from the crew is brilliant, and you can get up close to the engine to see how it works. Well worth a visit to see.

A great way to explore one of the lakes. I was running slightly late as I had issues with the parking meter but as I had booked in advance they helpfully waited for me to join. Would recommend if you're visiting the area.

We did the full tour and I'd highly recommend it. We've been on every large cruiser on Windermere, and also one on Derwent Water from Keswick. This wonderful steamboat is the best we have been on. So smooth and relaxing, and a wonderful crew. At the end of the cruise day even allow people to skipper the boar for a short while. Magical! Highly recommended!!!

We had a fantastic time on Steam Yacht Gondola. We went on her many years ago but wanted to take my children on board for a trip. The crew were very friendly and helpful.Julian was a great host and very knowledgeable about the vessel and the surrounding area.The friendly captain allowed my youngest daughter to steer the vessel and blow the whistle which she was thrilled about!

It was a great cruise. Lovely trip aboard a part of history brought to life. Very efficient, friendly staff. Luxurious seating in the old style saloon.

I'm thrilled to share my fantastic experience aboard the National Trust Steam Boat at Coniston Water in the Lake District. It was an incredible day, enriched by some amazing individuals.Our engineer, Paul, provided a fascinating introduction to the workings of the steam boat, taking us into the engineering bay. Seeing the impressive steam engine up close and being allowed to help load the boiler with wood chippings was a highlight, all thanks to Paul's generosity.Our guide was Charlie, a volunteer whose enthusiasm and knowledge truly made the trip special. Charlie's comprehensive explanations brought the boat and its history to life. The fact that Charlie is incredibly friendly only added to the richness of the experience.Adding to the remarkable crew was the Captain, whose name I didn't catch. Despite my lack of sailing experience, he kindly allowed me to the cockpit and even trusted me to take the wheel - an unforgettable moment!The combination of stunning Lake District scenery, the unique charm of the steam boat, and the exceptional crew turned this trip into a lasting memory. On behalf of my mother and myself, I extend our heartfelt thanks to the team for this extraordinary experience.The National Trust Steam Boat adventure at Coniston Water comes highly recommended from me. Fantastic trip around Coniston Water, made all the better by Captain Julian's fascinating commentary. We only did the northern half tour this time, but will definitely be back soon to do the whole lake tour. Highly recommended.

Lovely Serene cruise (Central route) on a lovely unique craft, staff pleasant and informative happy to chat, a little more than the diesel cruisers but well worth the extra, (well behaved dogs allowed)
