Possibly the strangest experience I've had working with a tradesperson. Eddie did a good job on my chair (for my home office) and I would have reviewed him higher if things had not descended into complete oddity and inappropriateness. From the outset his communication was pretty raw but, you know, he's a man of few words which didn't seem to matter. As I collected, Eddie suggested he would invoice me. Said invoice turned into brief account details in the body of an email with almost no other information except agreed price. I asked to use credit card and he said he didn't accept (not mentioned by him previously in his shop). I then replied requesting a formal invoice so funds could be made available for him from a business account. He did not reply. Then after 10 days he started chasing money. His subsequent emails became oddly threatening and then darkly amusing as he used bizarrely defensive tactics to avoid emailing an invoice. He even said he wanted to come to my house. In the end I created a statement for him and then tried to pay, but his account details red flagged with my bank. Subsequently, he was unable to even confirm whether the details he had previously sent were correct let alone either reply courteously or provide paperwork. The final communication from him became veiled threats and unreadable demands. I am sadly, not sure what was going on with this individual or why a request for paperwork seemed to throw him into such chaos. It then turned out after an attempt to pay him without paperwork (to end his almost abusive emails), the details he had first sent were incorrect. Further requests for correct details resulted in no replies then a hastily prepared invoice alarmingly put through my letterbox (we never gave him our address previously). Naturally he was then immediately paid to end the matter. In turn, should you want a 'geezer' who will likely do good upholstery no questions asked and no customer service, you might be fine. If you want to do business properly and courteously, I suggest, avoid.
