Attended my ex mother-in-law's wake, staff were very caring and they put on a lovely spread. The staff were caring enough to ask who was driving before pouring out the mini Guinness shooters for us.

Such a lovely village pub with a great team of staff. Unfortunately on our last visit the food wasn't great, which is a shame because I've been quite a few times over the years and the food has always been fantastic. They're having a menu change at the moment, so I sincerely hope they bring back the lamb shank - it's the number one reason I come here when I visit family! I went to Altham Primary and now live in London, I've not found a better lamb shank anywhere else!

Recently revamped (in the last couple of years) this ancient hostelry has everything you’d expect for a 21st century pub-stop. Ideally situated for a motorway break on the road that runs parallel to the M65 between J7 and J8 it also serves the nearby business park and the remnants of the more rural local community (its almost in the adjacent farm yard!).The welcome is warm and friendly, there are cosy nooks and crannies to sit in, a restaurant area and a bar food area, and fires which when lit would make the place homely.The menu is well priced and has a good simple range from quick snacks, quickly served to full a la carte meals.

Lovely Sunday lunch shame no Manchester Craft. We were there just after two and it was almost empty.
