Had been before and enjoyed but unfortunately on my birthday celebration the service was dreadful. They seemed to concentrate on selling drinks. Food was tasteless and not up to usual standard. Mushy peas were frozen peas mashed up with potato masher and lots of water remaining in them. Not pleased at all.

Went for Sunday lunch, which (unfortunately) was disappointing. Not really sure how it's possible to get a Sunday roast wrong, but.....The roast potatoes appeared to be those type 'from the freezer' as did the Yorkshire pudding.

Was there for Sunday lunch. We liked the outdoor seating area and space. The location is nice and decent parking. Food was average, but we found the service to be rather slow and had to chase up our main course meals.

Went to this pub with my friend and had a lovely lunch. I could see that the place could get very busy at some times, but we had a great lunch, so certainly worth a visit.

Have visited The Blue Lion Pub in Witherley a few times now and always had a fantastic experience. Great setting in village, the interior is spacious, well-kept, and provides a warm and friendly atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxing meal or drink.The Blue Lion also features a beautiful outdoor seating area, ideal for soaking up the sun in the warmer weather. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Sunday roast, which was absolutely delicious. The quality and taste were top-notch, making it a meal I won't soon forget.Finally, I must mention the wonderful bar staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Their attentive service truly elevated the entire experience. In summary, The Blue Lion Pub is a delightful gem in Witherley, offering great food, a welcoming environment, and exceptional staff. I highly recommend a visit!

Excellent Saturday lunchtime meal - service was excellent and food was very tasty with big portions. I have coeliac disease and therefore need to eat gluten free including no cross-contamination, I mentioned this when booking and to the waitress and this was completely taken care of. The menu is labelled to show what can be made gluten free and there is a great choice. Thanks!

Brilliant service, brilliant steak, brilliant desert! Will definitely be coming again. We never normally have desert but after our Thursday steak deal we had to. Best place we’ve been in a while and great value. Steak was cooked just how we like and it came with complimentary bread. Can’t fault anything about this place.
