We happened to be passing this excursion at the canal side ( a real gem of Birmingham) and for £6 each thought we’d give it a go and so glad we did! Very friendly and informative staff, we loved the knowledgeable and enthusiastic commentary provided by a very hardworking Charlotte, we must mention the skilful steering by our driver too as it’s no mean feat manoeuvring that canal. A lovely one hour trip through the canals which was great value. Highly recommend!

Must have when you visit Birmingham. The guide telling the history of the canals was an authentic and great storyteller, we enjoyed every minute of this experience.

Went on a 2 hour cruise aroubd the Birmingham channels. Boarded by the sea life center / Brindley place. I went on with a group of maybe 30 people, this trip was pre booked. You can go on a trip on a whim though, fairly priced. There is a small bar on board as well as a toilet. The boat i went on was a open top, there is a roof but its called this because some windows have been removed for better viewing. If you sit next to a open window it might get windy so wear a hoodie. The guide was very nice and told the history well, informative. i think it would be nice for a section of the talk to be dedicated for how people use barges now and why / compare it to the past.Got to see some cool views, lots of cool gravity on the walls, sometimes pass old factory. And then some new buildings.

We were just passing and looking for something to do and found this opportunity to explore a bit of Birmingham we had never seen before. At £6 for adults this trip along part of the canal system travelling round Birminghams only island was an interesting experience. The guide did very well to explain many aspects of the development of the canal network. Despite some challengingly noisy, very young children on board with little effort by their parents to control their playtime she soldiered on to pass on some of her wisdom to the passengers who were interested in learning more. If you are looking to discover more about Birmingham’s canal history this is a great way to spend your time.

The best cruises in Birmingham. They offer excellent commentary. The commentary consists of the history of the canal structure of Birmingham, the reason for its expansion (waterways), the key engineers involved and last how the water ways industry started to wind up. I will say they are the only ones to give such lovely and lively commentary. It's a value for money experience and something if you are visiting Birmingham make sure you are not losing out on this. I loved it hopefully you all will enjoy it.

Lovely way to spend an hour on the water. Terry was a brilliant guide and clearly very passionate about the canals. Really enjoyed it. It was a bitterly cold day and a lovely little rug to pop over my legs would have made it more comfortable. I'd have gladly paid a bit more if that was an option!

What a fantastic way to spend an hour on the Birmingham canal system. The lady guide was so enthusiastic and welcoming - she was just so knowledgeable. We were able to board with Millie our dog and we were made to feel so welcome. The price of £6 is so worth the money - it's an absolute bargain. You will leave with so much knowledge about the area and the canal system. Give the cruise a go - you certainly won't be disappointed. Overall a great experience.
