Hackney and Leigh have been professional and helpful from the beginning which included going above and beyond to arrange an early viewing of the property we were interested in. They remained helpful when there were some issues with the purchase. Ellie and Elaine deserve a special mention - responsive, polite, helpful and kind!

Absolutely shocking Estate Agents. I've had the displeasure of dealing with several branches, for a number of transactions, including purchasing a business, leasing a commercial unit and buying a residential property, all of which, have caused me severe distress and been financially debilitating, due to their lies and misrepresentation. It's unfortunate they have the monopoly in the Lake District, as there are some great Estate Agents around, that are drowned by this nasty, dishonest company. Be warned, question everything; ask for evidence, if you're unsure; don't trust anything they put on their sales documentation. One of many examples, I was looking to buy a business; they suggested a new lease may be available if desired; the business was being sold for over £130k, with an existing 2 year lease, so a new lease was absolutely desired. However, after spending nearly £8k on due diligence, there wasn't a new lease available, the estate agent hadn't even discussed it with the landlord, they just added that statement to the sales documentation to make the business more appealing. Don't even bother about complaining, as you'll be dismissed and then threatened by their solicitors. The company is still being run by Mr Derrick Hackney who has lost touch with reality and seems to be far removed from the 21st Century. If there is absolutely no alternative to using this awful company, please be very careful. I hope never to use them again, in fact, I'll go out of my way to make sure our paths never cross again.

The staff at Hackney and Leigh in Kendal were amazing. It is obvious how well they work together as a team. They answer queries promptly. They kept us informed and kept pushing until we had a successful sale. They are the best estate agents in the whole area.

The sales team at Hackney & Leigh Kendal did a great job all the way through from initial enquiry, viewing, presale to purchase. Any questions I had were answered diligently and the whole process was conducted professionally. There is clearly a good system in place that shares information across the team so that any team member can respond quickly. They demonstrated excellence in property sales.

Firstly, selling a property can be very stressful for anyone, however our experience with the staff at Hackney & Leigh (Kendal) has been exactly the opposite. The whole process right from the start has been nothing short of excellent.Our property was viewed,valued, photographed and presented to the market within a week, every viewing was arranged by them at our convenience, we were kept informed at all times regarding feedback and indeed offers, (of which we had six) after accepting an offer of the full asking price, this is where Hackney & Leigh truly excelled, each member of staff are fully aware of every aspect of the sale and it's progress, the level of communication between individual staff members was exceptional, and as far as dealing with solicitors and local authorities etc..., they made sure that we were always kept updated throughout the whole process all the way through to exchange and completion.Not only do I recommend them but I quite honestly believe that the way that they operate should be used as a blue print for other estate agents.I can not recommend them highly enough, if you need an estate agent, you really don't need to look anywhere else.

H&L Kendal were fantastic to deal with. From the initial photography and brochure through to sale, their communication and support was excellent. Keira and Ellie in particular were great to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to work with.
