About the Business

Home | Willie Park Jnr, Harry Colt, James Braid and Henry Cotton have all helped shape our course but today it is the quality of our greens, fast and true and considered to be the best in the County, that present a real challenge.

A modern club house and pro shop with very friendly staff set a great first impression. The small, fast greens are difficult to read and I feel are the jewel in this nicely laid out course's crown. The range offers free balls which is quite something these days, albeit the range itself is slightly awkwardly situated, requiring a walk down the first hole to access it.A great little halfway hut with an excellent homemade selection is a must-stop and most players seem to do so, with no impact on the flow of play.Excellent value for money as a member's guest.

This was one of the most enjoyable courses I've played in a while. Course was interesting and a good test of golf. Greens were top class, very quick .Club house as to be expected from a course of the quality was excellent, staff attentive, carvery also excellent. Look forward to playing it again.

I played at the Nevill on Thursday 1st June ‘23. First time visit for me, 2nd time for the society I was with. An excellent course in really good condition, the greens did look a bit patchy, but played smooth and slick. Some bunkers were like a sand veneer over concrete though, so best not to go in them!Annoyingly, the half way house closed just as my group got to it and this was around 2pm. I was looking forward to a chilled drink too and couldn’t understand why it would close when the course still had quite a few players out on it. This is why I gave it 4 stars otherwise it would have been 5.

The GM is a monster and fat one at that. Course is very “fiddly”, doesn’t really reward top ball strikers due to the nature of layout. Everyone is very stuck up, when they actually have no right to be. It’s the Nevill, not Royal Birkdale. My advice would be to stop being so nose up and start welcoming all golfers. But as discussed the GM should probably be locked up somewhere.

Played today in 30+ degree heat and really enjoyed myself. 2nd time I've played the course and love the layout. The only issue I have is that the spaces in the car park are way too small, meaning A LOT of people park over the line or just take up 2 spaces deliberately because your physically can't get in and out of your car.

One of Sussex's top inland courses. Includes a great halfway house and a fine clubhouse. Well worth a visit.

We went there for a wake so can only comment on this. The staff were really friendly, polite and attentive. The upstairs room we were in had a lovely view over some of the course. From what we had it would be ideal, as for us for familly gatherings.

Course can be tricky. Long carries to some fairways. Lots of undulations and uneven fairways. I only went in one bunker, but it had good, raked sand in it. Beware the water though. Some do have sturdy ball retrievers by then. Not keen on having to walk down a twisting coyntry road to get to and from a couple of the holes though. Coming back about 5 vehicles passed me. Quite hilly in places. There on an away day with meal afterwards. The food was excellent as was the service. As a group of 40 ladies the facilities were a bit on the small side, but I think the same could be said about most clubs and under normal circumstances would be fine.
