Moved recently to another town and came across a garage that was going to charge me between 400 pounds and 1000 pounds to fix my car to get the MOT. like if there wasnt a huge difference on price. I decided to buy a car and went to Hynland Motor. The car I liked was immaculate, excellent price. A mechanic asked me why I wanted to get rid of mine, as it looks a wee low mileage 2015 year car. I said I didn't want to , and explained about what was going on. They had a look to the fails, and explained the other garage gave me an extremely overpriced quote. They gave me the quote beforehand, fixed it and passed the MOT. Customer service a 10. All of them, Michael the owner, receptionist and two mechanics I met. They gained a new customer, if I decide to buy a car, require repairs or MOT. More than happy to drive 50 minutes from where I live.

edited: my reply to Hyndland at the end of this reviewPlease read this whole review as to why you should avoid this garage. If you value your hard earned money, avoid buying a car from here at all costs. Great customer service and sales when you first inquire. They know all the right things to say and have some nice cars at attractive prices. HOWEVER, I have driven 5 different cars from here and every single one has had multiple warning lights and issues pop up after using them for a little while. I bought a 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara in July 2022. Drove great the first while, and then the issues began. I had my car in the garage being “fixed” about half of the year over various week/ month stretches. Kept getting my car back “fixed” only to break down on 3 separate occasions. Each time my car went in for weeks at a time and every time I phoned the goal posts kept moving. Eventually I spoke to a family member who is a Suzuki dealer mechanic and he immediately identified my issue. Only after some uncomfortable pleading with the garage, they replaced the part that my family member identified and my issue was resolved. In fairness, I did not have to pay a penny for any of this work as I had bought the 3 year third party warranty from Momentum Warranties. This was a saving grace, but as mentioned, I barely had my car on the road during the year anyway and missed multiple days of work when I would break down in my “fixed” car. When my car was in the garage, I was provided various courtesy cars to drive in the mean time. After the first couple times my car had to go back in because the issue was still not resolved, the courtesy cars became more and more hard to come by, leaving me stranded without a car on various occasions. This slowly left me struggling for transport due to the garage returning my car to me in a state unfit for driving and lending the courtesy cars out to others.Fast forward to July this year, my car (finally driving right) went in for an MOT. This came back with the discovery of extreme corrosion of the main frame of the car. This was identified as “dangerous” and “extreme” on the MOT report. I understand corrosion happens, especially in a country with weather such as Scotland and with the salt on the roads, but the extent of the corrosion does not happen in that time scale. The car was looked at by a welder as well, and they discovered it was even worse than first thought and refused to work on the car. I am left with a rusty tin can that’s been written off and the 5 grand I spent on the car gone down the drain. The garage’s response to all of this was “you’d have to be a scientist to know that corrosion could happen in a year” and “well you saw the car when you bought it and we’re happy”Hyndland Motor company have scammed me and I hope you don’t let them scam you too.my reply:The issue that was eventually resolved was at no cost to me because of the warranty which I had purchased. Parts being replaced was not out of the goodness of Hyndland’s heart, it was covered by my warranty. They may have replaced many sensors etc, but not one of these was needed by the car nor fixed the issue. This is the first I am hearing of a drivers license issue? The light on the dash was not a tyre pressure light. This comment has been completely made up. The light was an injector light with code P0641 - a fault in the ECM specifically a fault in the 5v network. Furthermore, the car didn’t even have tyre pressure sensors fitted.Pictures of the corrosion attached, decide for yourself. The fact that this car was sold to an unsuspecting customer in the condition it structurally was in is shocking.I believe Hyndland Motor Company will say anything to keep themselves in good light and most customers would cut their losses and move on but I simply am not that customer. If you read through enough of the negative reviews for this business you will find I’m not the only one that’s bought a car littered with issues. There are enough used car sellers out there to play it safe and go elsewhere.

Got a good reasonably priced SEAT from the team here. Got it on the road with 1 years MOT. Very friendly service and a couple of minor issues with car ironed out straight away with no problems and free of charge. Will be using for servicing/MOT from now on

Bought a new car from Michael at Hyndland garage over a month ago. What can I say! excellent customer service, friendly and helpful throughout & couldn’t do anymore to ensure the car was right before driving off ( within a short timescale I may add). A total pleasure to deal with a small family based caring garage. The experience was hassle free start to finish. Well done to Michael and his team for what has been a very good experience and of course my excellent car. I wish you all the best for the future from a very happy Raitt family.

I would recommend this place to all my friends. I bought my wee toyota few weeks ago and I love every moment with her. Michael was very trustworthly and very friendly seller and fixed few things in my car before even we ask for it. He make sure the car is safe to drive. Making business with Michael was a pleasure. Thank you

I can say the experience from Start to finish from looking at firstly and to buying and driving away with our vehicle. We were looking for a van to convert to a camper and after seeing the advert online I decided to visit and have a look. Was very impressed with the condition of the Ducato Van and with the great customer service provided by Michael. He allowed me to take pictures to show to my wife and we decided to purchase. Michael explained the Warranty and the Breakdown cover that was supplied when buying the van. I arranged to pick it up early the next week. On the Tuesday lunchtime I arrived to pick the van up and again was given a great customer experience and service from Susan.More than happy to recommend this friendly local company and look forward to doing business in the future.

Good people right through to the garage. Very happy with the service provided and the car. Not your typical car dealers and both Michael and Susan were very helpful. Would recommend.

I purchased my very first car from Highland Motors last week and could not have asked for a better experience.Michael and Susan were so welcoming and met our every need.My car was in pristine condition, spotless inside and out. It was fully serviced, MOT’d and ready to be driven away the same day.As a brand new driver and only being 21yrs old, I was worried about purchasing my first car and I am so happy I picked Highland Motors.100% recommend to everyone to go here for an amazing experience.
