This was the second time we booked an epic African vacation with ATR. Once again, Tracey went above and beyond our expectations to create a trip of a lifetime. The communication was flawless right from the planning stages.ATR are experts in their field and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with this large of a undertaking traveling from Canada to tour Uganda. What I appreciate most about ATR is the fact that they take the time to get t know you and design a trip based on your wishes and budget. There are no cookie cutter itineraries with ATR and you are not just booking a generic safari from a tour company for the masses.ATR service is simply like no other, they will work with you every step along the way so you have a personalized itinerary using ATR’s entrusted local guides and boutique lodges that are simply exquisite. Most importantly, ATR does all of this this while staying as eco friendly as possible by supporting local businesses that are sustainable and also give back to their villages and communities.After arriving to Uganda, everything Tracey had arranged went flawlessly. From our drivers, to 5 internal flights and of course the quaint but luxurious accommodation, the real stars were the wildlife. Tracey had arranged every detail of permits, guides and trekking. We didn’t have to worry about a thing except enjoying the beauty of Uganda and it’s wildlife stars. If you are looking for a personalized trip of a lifetime, don’t book anywhere other than with ATR!

I highly recommend a safari experience with ATR. We worked with them to plan 4 days in Botswana. We worked with Brian and he was amazing. He gave us a range of options in various price ranges. He came up with a good middle of the road option with 2 days in Muchenje camp in Botswana and 2 days in Lebala camp. Both camps were amazing, the safari experiences were great and the guides and hospitality were super. Brian, Claudine and and the ATR team worked with us to customize the trip we wanted and the results were great. We will be going back with them for our next trip to Africa. Highly recommend them.

Stacy and Connie have booked myself and friends 3 times to Africa. This last trip was to Namibia. Outstanding adventure. Not one complaint. We stayed in simple to luxurious lodges. I highly recommend ATR. I'm sure i will start planning our next adventure. One should visit Africa. Its the most amazing country and the people are wonderful. There is nothing like Africa and as a world traveler I cant cant say enough about it.

Africa veterans Tracey and her team have been our go-to planners for everything safari-related. That we have gone back to them every year to plan our family trip for the past 9 years is testimony enough of how much we trust them! We have had the best guides, great sightings and superlative accommodation and hospitality at the most remote, exclusive camps that Africa has to offer. ATR provided a very well managed service from the time we engaged with them - prompt, understanding and flexible. Our experience was a great example of excellent program management, co-ordination and service.The arrangements were perfect, we were met at all points of our various stops and the camps / lodge ATR suggested, met our expectations. Excellent experience as always for our trip to Zambia - South Luangwa, Kafue and Liuwa Plains. Meticulously planned; everything worked out, with one small hiccup. Our helicopter transfer to the camp in Liuwa Plains never materialized, leaving us with nearly 3-hour drive in the afternoon and on the way back.Have been using ATR since 2006, very happy with the service. Richard has been a great partner.

We wanted to thank African Travel Resource (ATR) and our agent Richard Wende more specifically for putting together our fantastic itinerary. We had the most wonderful adventures during our time in Kenya and want to offer you a giant thank you for helping us plan what was truly a once in a lifetime vacation. We cannot say enough about our accommodations (Rekero Camp, Ololo Safari Lodge, and Ithumba in Tsavo East), the game drives and the game drivers, the food, and the opportunity to spend time at Sheldrick and the elephants. I have booked 7 Africa safaris with ATR and have been extremely pleased with their suggestions, promptness and friendly attitude. I've booked Tanzania(11 of us and am not a travel agent), Uganda for gorillas, Zambia, South Africa and Kenya 3 times. Jay Hanson has been my agent for all. If he's been unavailable when questions come up, I'm just referred to another helpful agent. I used to reserve at a couple camps. I don't do that anymore, as I want to take advantage of all the game drives and lose alittle of that when transitioning from one camp to another. Something that has been extremely helpful is the booking of the international flights, which I do myself. I live in Minnesota, USA. As I have time zone changes between central USA and east coast; then also the 8 hour (I think) difference to Nairobi, I have Jay help me with my dates. I fly Kenya Airways, as it's a direct flight from JFK to Nairobi and costs seem to be very good. I email Jay the dates and times I'm looking at, and he confirms if the camp is available then, if that's the best camp prices for me on those dates and making sure I've got the times/dates correct. It's easy to be off by a day, with the time change. As there's a connecting flight once you get to the international airport(have to get shuttled to the Wilson airport), need to make sure of those international arrival times! Jay makes sure I have this correct. I'm always met by a shuttle driver, holding up my name....goes smoothly. Now, I'll add some pictures. I was THRILLED that I got some very nice photos of the cats"!!"

We’ve used ATR twice now to book two amazing experiences. We can’t reccomend Richard Wende enough. Richard took the time to get to know us and match us to the best experience based on our ideas of a perfect safari … he went above and beyond our expectations twice now … we are already booking our next two trips! We never felt we were being sold anything it was always about our trip and needs. Richard pushed us gently into some camps we never would have picked and we are so thankful his deep knowledge of the camps and Africa makes such a difference … the right camp is the most important part of your trip..: Thank you ATR for standing out among the rest and keeping the true spirit of safari alive….
