Wivey Pool

First time visiting this pool! The pool itself was great and they provide kids floats and toys! Which my little one loved. Everything was clean and the shop was reasonable pricing. What ruined my experience was who I believe to be the manager, very rude, seemed to be on a power trip, the way she spoke to the her staff was awful. Maybe a refresher on how to interact with the public might be helpful, manners cost nothing.

Wivey pool is just the best place. Such a community spirited feel to it. We hired the pool for a pool party for my daughters 9th birthday and had so much fun. Two lovely lifeguards on duty to keep us safe, one being the actual manager who was overseeing the whole session. She got all the kids together before going in, to run through the rules. She was very clear and firm but made the kids giggle at the same time. Both very friendly ladies who made it fun for us as well. Getting involved with the children by getting them to do a jumping in competition.I would highly recommend booking your pool party at wivey pool. We also go swimming occasionally during the family swim sessions and it’s always run extremely well. Happy lifeguards who work really hard to keep the place clean and tidy and safe. Thanks guys

As a community, we are so unbelievably lucky to have such a fabulous, outdoor pool. I was fortunate enough to use this pool as a child & it's a pleasure to watch my own children now enjoying it. I was at the pool at the same time as the person who has written a negative review & there were some facts they have chosen to miss out. On numerous occasions, I saw the staff asking the person to put their phone away as they were recording their friends in the water. I myself had complained to the staff about this as there is clearly signage around stating no photos, however this group clearly ignored these. My young daughter was in the pool & I felt uncomfortable that she was in the vicinity when they were recording. The staff are always very helpful with straighy forward information & make it very clear that no one should be given food whilst they are in the water for valid reasons. If people choose to ignore the basic safety rules of a very much loved swimming pool, they will unfortunately get the wrath of staff & rightfully so! I cannot recommend Wivey pool enough, it is an asset to the town & very much loved!!!!!

All emails are responded to quickly and professionally. The pool, showers, changing areas are all clean. The staff are very kind and professional.My child was sick on the day of their distance challenge swim and Wivey Pool kindly transferred my booking to the following week.Praise and encouragement was given to the children during and after their distance challenge.

For a small pool, we had a fantastic experience. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The little shop is very good value for ice cream, hot/cold drinks and snacks. Highly recommended.

I went to Wivey pool today for a fun day out with my friends but we were given much more than we expected. We had runnings with the staff not once not twice but 6 times on the basis on pedantic rule breaking. One particular complaint and talking to from the staff I received which raised a major concern for me was the fact that I was told if my friend was to choke in the pool that they would not be able to save her. Yes I did supply her with some food however they didn't ask why and the reason why was that she was feeling faint and wasn't able to get out to get herself food; in fact the only food I gave her was one singular haribo. To me being told that someone in the pool wouldn't be able to be saved is shocking. It seems as if they are risking lives by not providing enough first aid courses to the people working there making families and people visiting the pool (including me) feel unsafe and reluctant to actually go into the pool. The staff didn't make us feel welcome. Me and one of my friends also were told to tie up our hair as to stop the filters being clogged however after this on my ankle I found a large clump of hair which made me wonder if this rule applies to everyone or just us. Beforehand we tried to look on the website to find the rules and were unable to as the website was so confusing however after our visit we successfully found the list of rules and tied up hair was not listed. One other thing I was told off for doing was sitting on the side of the pool (again didn't know this was a rule). Other than not feeling welcome here me and my friends had a fun time in the pool when not being talked to.

This is a lovely pool with everything you need to enjoy your swim session.Changing rooms,toilets and seating.The pool is in good condition with lifeguards on watch. There is a park right outside the gates so kids can have a play after as well as a carpark.We have used this pool loads in the last few years and have never had any issues.Staff have always been friendly.

Lovely afternoon spent here with my young son, the pool was spotlessly clean, the staff members were helpful and the snack shop was a full of treats.Unfortunately there were two lads that deemed it funny to pretend to be drowning, messing about with woggles (breaking one) provided by the pool and giving the two young female life guards hassle.The staff dealt with it very professionally and thankfully they left not long after!

LOVE this pool! Slightly heated and a great location. Lane swimming in mornings and evenings and public swimming during the day. Very friendly staff and users too.
