Mercure Sheffield Parkway Hotel

Firstly I want to thank the staff member at reception at our check in, he made us feel very welcome and made sure all the relevant paperwork for my wheelchair using wife was completed. We stayed in room 100 which was an accessible room on the first floor. It was spotlessly clean and nice crisp sheets on both beds. However the room itself is in need of an upgrade the furniture was very tired and we had to report the loose table. Also in this day and age we need power sockets by the bed not only to charge our devices up, but in my wife's case to power her medical equipment. I had to unplug the bedside lamp so I could power said equipment. We ate Dinner and Breakfast in the hotel, and this was all just about ok with no complaints really. We had 3 courses for a £22 deal for dinner and that was about what the food was worth tbh, gourmet it was not. I've had a similar standard of food at my local Wetherspoons, and if I had not taken part in the £22 deal the bill would have been in excess of £65 ! Breakfast was your usual buffet fair with both hot and cold selections available, my main concern with the hot food that most of it had been under the Hotplate lights for a while and the scrambled eggs and mushrooms were particularly dried out. I would suggest that if the hotel is particularly quiet then hot breakfasts are cooked to order ? We paid a total of just over £100 for the two of us Inc all our food so on paper it was not bad value, the location is in the middle of an industrial estate which seems to be the norm these days for a lot of the more recent hotels so you definitely need a vehicle to use this particular hotel. Would we stay there again ?? For a similar room rate then yes, however for a midweek or Saturday night rate then it would be a no.

Modern, clean rooms stayed for 1 night. Comfy beds, air con. New bathroom, spacious and good shower. Complimentary tea and coffee in room with kettle. Hand-wash, shampoo/shower gel dispensers. Clean towels, safe in wardrobe. Hotel in a business park which is still being developed so not much in to see/do within close proximity but it suited our needs just fine. Breakfast was traditional English as well a continental. All self served.

Feels like middle of nowhere (aka rather isolated). Room was decent sized with a huge firm bed (perhaps too firm). Food - Main course was good but desert was very prepackaged (not good)

Rooms lovely except right next to container yard which seemed to work all night, continually waking us up.Food portions - miniscule - big price.Average bottle of wine 4 times supermarket price.Advertised 24 HR room service, but kitchens closed at 9pm.Definitely won't be back

Hotel itself is lovely however I had a room at the rear of the hotel and it was very noisy sure to the kitchen extractor going on and off, small trains up and down the very close track during the night. I didn't sleep properly all week. I asked to move but the hotel was full. The staff did give me ear plugs which helped!

It is a good comfortable rooms and the service is very good, and friendly ! The kitchen is very accommodating in terms of adding extra bits on the menu! Pizza is good as the curry, Veb in the kitchen here has been a legend! Got some banging pizzas and other dishes!Megan, Elise, Ash have been briliant on front of house and reception. Also, special mention to the housekeeping dept. My room is always fresh clean and welcoming!

Lovely rooms, lots of hot water, reasonable amount of plugpoints, 2 with usb ports, my room had a wine fridge. Unfortunately your room key turns on the electricity so if you are not in the room, the fridge is off. Wheelchair friendly entrance, lifts at the hotel, enough staircases. Staff friendly & helpful. Food quality is good. Easy to get to from the main road. On an industrial estate. Parking is free as long as you enter your details in the iPad provided. That is the way it looked to me as I did not drive myself.
