National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

Went to get a nail puncture repaired and was told they couldn't say when it would be done as they were short staffed for the rest of the week so will need to leave it with them for 4 hours. Then was told it couldn't be repaired and would require a new tyre at £280.00 but couldn't be done on the day. Went 200yds down the road to a independent garage who did a full examination on the tyre and repaired it for £20 in 30 minutes. Thanks to Welwyn Test Centre!

Phoned up mid Saturday afternoon after a brake warning light came on, and other garages were closed until Monday. These guys could fit me in with a quick inspection (brake pads gone) and quote, and I can go back on Monday morning to get the pads replaced. Helpful and pretty much exactly what I needed - thank you!Update from my most recent visit, months later - they remembered me, asked about my missing wheel nut (now replaced), and did a great job getting me new tyres. Happy to stick with five stars!

Previously had an awful experience at National Tyres in Watford, but as a last resort, I rang Welywn Garden City branch, and a gentleman named Jamie was only too happy to help. Within 1 hour of ringing up to see if they had the stock, he got both tyres changed without any hassle or extensive waiting. An absolute credit to that branch.

A garage that can't even change the wheel of a van???? Health and safety apparently???? Forced to do it myself with an 1.5 tonnes jack....... Joke garage never going back...Customer service is also a joke!!! Don't even reply???? Only on the reviews? To try and look good? Im going to send you pictures of how a non mechanic can take a van wheel off with a 1.5 jack but you can do it with 32000 tonne ramp?

Recently had my brakes replaced and they did a great job. Not only did they manage to fit me in in short notice but their customer service was excellent, helping to fix some other faults and going out of their way to reduce my costs and explain the work they’d done with pictures and updates. Really recommend

Unprofessional by Rob and Darrel last year. Changed my tyre, went home noticed the wheel nut was missing during cleaning my alloys next day. Branch manager was fantastic dealt with it by a replacement told me come in tommorow, but he will be working at another branch.When I got there staff darell, started arguing with me saying it was missing before. I said your manager has sorted this. I had all the evidence on phone images before and after of my wheel change.pls note, I recommend all customers take images before any work is carried out, you can not trust them at all. I then showed darell the before images he didn't like it got aggressive tone towards me. After that Rob works there got rude got defensive didn't like the fact I was telling truth, I had all the evidence . His staff member next to him saw and knew what rob did wrong.that staff member was very helpful. Next time think twice by making false allegation towards customers. Rob couldn't give an answer, I wonder why? Next time I will stick with super tyres & protyres in wgc to everyone. Much better staff and professional you can trust your car with them. I am disgusted staff at national tyres, spent my hard earned money and they get away with it. Never had such bad experience in my life. I forgot to mention in 2020 during wheel alignment, staff damaged car driver side matt with oil stains and grease!. At protyres & supertyres they cover your seats before getting in your car.Think twice before you spend your hard earned money especially they don't have a clue. Halford head office I spoke to,he said they will send a vouchers. All lies it never happened... look at all bad reviews below, am i suprised?

In this day and age where customer service seems to have gone out of the window, I'm delighted to confirm Darryl (hope I spelt that correctly) at National tyres WGC restored my faith with his excellent service this morning. I had a leaking tyre valve and popped round on my way to work on the off chance they could look at it. Darryl sorted it right there on the spot fixing the valve and even checked the other tyre pressures for me - at no cost. I will absolutely be going back for my future car needs. Friendly, honest and professional, like customer service used to be.

Booked online for 4 tyre change. Had a poor experienceAll good until they took my car In.The mechanic came back few minutes later saying there is a rust on one of the nut and the anti theft key is not going in. And I need to take it a welding shop to weld something on the bolt and get it out and also I need to get a new anti theft key from VW. The mechanic was unwilling to try anything and rude in his approach but he did get another mate mechanic to agree with him.I was not allowed to use tools to get it out myself.They cancelled my booking which was a huge unconvince to me.I got home and got the nut out in a minute with a light tap of a hammer!! Which I asked the mechanic to do and he refused.A garage full of tools and workshop of professional mechanics can't get a bolt out!!!Absolutely gobsmacked.Should have booked with their competators which is literally next door.Found the whole experience shocking and stressful.Should have read some of the reviews before booking.

after replacing the control arms in the car, I went to set the alignment and that's how my problems with wheel alignment began, I was in several garages and in each they said that it was wrong and they would fix it, so it was this time, unfortunately nothing has changed, it's even worse with driving fast pulls me to the middle of the road and smells of burnt rubber. the staff is nice and helpful but when it comes to the work done I have to give 2 stars. driving this car has become dangerous

My wife had a puncture on her lexus and jaimie was able to accommodate us at short notice. He did a great job and went above and beyond to get it done as quick as possible.Extremely polite and helpful young man, will definately be bringing our service to here from now on.Also prices are better than anywhere else I called.
