Station Hotel
Had an amazing break visiting our friend who is working up in Stonehaven. The staff & regulars were so lovely & friendly. Breakfasts were first class. Evening meals were lovely.. Can't fault a thing.

I am a very regular visitor to the Station Hotel for meals and events as I live locally. I think that it offers excellent value for money, generous portion sizes and good service. However what would take this dining experience up a notch would be some changes to the menu. There is usually one 'special' on offer, but otherwise the menu has varied very little for years and quite honestly it is pretty uninspiring. In fact, for the festive season, some of the favourites have actually been taken off the menu! I have eaten in all the separate venues within the hotel in the last month - the lounge bar, the snug, the dining room and the function room but not the public bar. The snug and the dining room are cosy; the lounge bar adequate, but the function room was absolutely freezing. The majority of those at our function had to keep their coats on for the whole evening, which really spoiled our night. This is a welcoming hotel with lovely front of house staff - but sadly there are signs that attention to detail is waning - perhaps because the current owners are trying to sell up.

Very nice hotel. Across the road from the train station. A bit of a walk to the town centre, up hill home. Reasonable bar price compared to other bars. Breakfast choice is excellent and delicious. Could not fault it, we will return.

I had a Single Room with shared facilities but it was excellent and at a reasonable price including a substantial breakfast. The Hotel is maintained to a high standard and is very well run.The place is spotlessly clean and tidy. The Staff are friendly and helpful.Very handy for the Railway Station hence the name. One mile walk to the Seafront but it's all downhill. Can highly recommend to stay, eat and drink.

Quaint room with good quality bedding. Great selection of food and was absolutely beautiful including the breakfast. Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Can't fault this little gem. ❤️

Im actually just posting a review for having lunch here with my friend today. We both had fish and chips, and I have to say that’s probably the best bettered fish I’ve ever had. Chips were also superb. Absolutely fantastic, will definitely be back and highly recommend. Staff were also great, main barman (think he’s perhaps the owner) had good crack and the staff were so nice.Seemed to have been recently renovated and was busy.

Lovely friendly hotel,food excellent,staff friendly and helpful room although a wee bit dated was absolutely immaculate we had a great stay and would definitely book again and recommend to friends and family.

Booked a family meal, excellent reception on the phone and on arrival, staff moved us to an alternative table, with more room, when they were aware we had a child in a high seat. Very attentive, without going over the top, all meals excellent, hot, tasty and well presented. Those in the company who had not been before indicated an intention to return.Thanks again folks, :-)

Visited for 1st time in years and very busy at lunchtime. Menu was good and service was efficient. The food was delicious but the servings were too large and I'm a big eater! My plate was half filled with chips (which isn't shown in pic below) , most of which were left. I can recommend the veggie haggis burger but beware, it is huge!!
