Purchasing my Hyundai i40 from Carbase was initially met with an unexpected hiccup, but the manner in which the situation was handled made all the difference. I'm now enjoying my Hyundai i40 and am truly grateful for the all-encompassing support I received. NEVER BUY A CAR FROM CAR BASE. they are dishonest, misleading and sell vehicles with huge underlying problems. Their staff are unhelpful and rude, the cars are not cleaned before collection and they will try to distract you while they add on ‘cover’ that you a) haven’t asked for and b) won’t be able to claim on. I’ve bought about a dozen cars in my life, no company has been as bad as this one.

Reserved a car on Auto traders from Carbase Western SuperMare for my wife arrived there after couple of days when I received a call from them that the car was ready for collection . On arrival there from London-Edgware there was very friendly team not to forget James Shaquer who assisted us through the completed sale process . I was very tired and exhausted but with an hour everything was done Car was ready and I was back on road .It was good to witness honest selling than a greedy sale as that takes the business long way and gets them satisfied customers .Well done Team - Western Supermare .I will be defiantly purchasing another car from them too for myself

Car went wrong on the drive home, some staff were rude. Don’t use car supermarkets.Edited: I left a good review just after we brought a car when the salesman asked if we could..Then we drove home and on the way back the engine light came on. So now I have edited the review to match my real experience.Carbase happily let us return the car of course as they are legally obliged to do so.. however, it cost us money in insurance and cancellation fees. We had filled the tank up too, and getting that money back from Carbase was like squeezing blood from a stone..The WSM branch screams toxic masculinity with guys walking around saying things like ‘Shaguar’ annd walking with the most comic of swaggers. And If you don’t have a big budget for a car you are treated like 2nd class citizens.Not saying all the staff were bad, but there were a few real 90s style, over confident stereotypical car salesmen that need to join the 21st century. The only things they are missing are the big white bleached teeth and slug moustaches.. some of them were rude and unprofessional right up until our new car went wrong, when they got of their high horse and tried to help.. they tried to find the fault to an engine warning light in the trip computer, which I found pretty hilarious in a 2012 car, as if it was the windscreen washer fluid that had run out.. they didn’t have a scooby doo what they were doing.FYI, there’s also a compulsory charge that covers extra warranty etc even if you don’t want it.. although the roadside assistance seems essential when you buy a car that immediately goes wrong, so fair enough.This was my 2nd experience with carbase, both times were pretty bad.. 1st time was Bristol where I had reserved a car and had an appointment to see it, only for them to see it to a walk-in 20 mins before I arrived and only told me as I arrived, after driving an hour to get there, and even left the car parked outside the front door.. nice touch.In my experience, these car ‘supermarkets’ are a money making machines that don’t care about their customers, only their profits. I would go for a smaller company who are more personal. We ended up buying a car from such a place, they were polite, professional, well priced and stress free.Never going back to Carbase that’s for sure.
