Sadly, since covid things seem to have gone downhill a little. The hot chocolate used to be served in a lovely tall glass with loads of cream on top. Not so anymore. They seem to be short staffed so the menu is now limited to drinks, cakes and pasties. This also means a long wait sometimes to be served. The existing staff are doing their best and are very friendly. I think new management needs to take over.

Drove over from West Wales to meet our son. Sat down and saw a number of people eating what looked like great food. After more than 10 mins I finally chased after a member of staff to ask for a menu to be told they had stopped serving food as the oven was broke". They could have asked us if we wanted food when we arrived . Not good really"

So on a whim decided one morning to see what was here for food, and have to say wasn't disappointed with what was served.I had a cooked breakfast with the usual suspects, sausage, egg, hash brown, mushroom, bacon and beans with the nicest toast I've tasted with a breakfast no joke (and they gave you enough real butter to actually butter it).My wife had toasted tea cakes which looked awesome and apparently tasted it too.Now we also indulged in brownie cakes with mini eggs ontop and a slice of coconut and lime cake which was really good.It was served quickly and the drinks were great too hot chocolate and americano. The staff were friendly and the layout was nice and rustic, big wooden tables made for a great visit. We have found a new gem here and will definitely be back.

Nice coffee shop at the back, through a lovely garden centre.Wide selection of cakes and drinks, cafe was quite busy.Cakes were very tasty and fresh, covered until selected.Alas, this is where the I must mention the staff, there was one member to whom our presence was an inconvenience. I was here with my three children from 10 months to 9 yrs, the kids (including the baby) were well behaved and quiet. Whilst I queued each I item I asked for was greeted with a huff! I put this down to it being busy so upped my game, trying to assist with extra politeness. The part that really infuriated me was that my 7 yo required a fork for her cake, I checked and could see none avaliable for us to use, so I asked her to go and ask at the counter, without prompt, she joined the back of the queue and waited her turn!Alas, when she got to the front of the 4 person line she asked for a fork and waited... And waited.... And waited.... Finally after several minutes of watching the staff ignore her and serve adult paying customers, I went to the counter and politely enquired if there was an issue, she said she had asked them but they had not heard her. I would fully expect better service from a public facing company especially when dealing with young and old. With me by her side she was quickly given a fork. One final grumble was that at 1530 on a Saturday afternoon, half the seating area was closed off with no explanation, thankfully we were able to get a table with 3 seats. Will try again with the venue in the future with the hope that it was circumstantial and improvements are forthcoming.

Delicious cakes, cosy atmosphere inside and plenty of seating outside. Hot drinks were a little small and seemingly understaffed with staff rushed off their feet.

Visiting from Germany, it was great to expose my family to traditional British cakes of that quality. Germans have extremely high expectations of sweets and desserts, and we were not disappointed. The service was also exceptional.

Girl serving did not even see us waiting to be served to busy playing on her phone. My drink an americano was tastless ,that weak I could not taste coffee at all. We were at the Costa coffee at rest bay wales. If that is the standard of Costa coffee I won't ever go to one again.

It has the most gorgeous homemade cakes and so much choice. Lovely sandwiches fresh bread good presentation. Very friendly staff a lovely outdoor sheltered seating area. You can then look around the prettiest garden centre I have been which you go through to reach the Coast Cafe. I am so glad I discovered it.
