Citrus Hotel Cardiff by Compass Hospitality

Won't be stopping at this hotel again, parking is a nightmare very very tight to get your car or van in and also costs £12, my room wasn't very nice dated and smelt funny as you couldn't open any windows. They do supply 2 fans for your room as it gets very warm in your room.This hotel is cheap because its not very nice.

Had a room booked for next year for me and a freind to attend the wwe at Cardiff arena 18th April to the 19th…all great and booked etc…then yesterday I get an email to say that my booking had been cancelled for no reason whatsoever, without me requesting it. So not only do I have to book another hotel, but I now have to wait for a refund for my room. Reading the other reviews, it seems that I have dodged a bullet anyways. Upon checking , the rooms have now sold out…absolute joke do not stay here.

The room was nice, clean and had a very big bed. Staff were friendly and apologetic and the hotel is in a great location. However it was ridiculously hot in the room. It was like being in a sauna. We had 2 fans and it made no difference. Very uncomfortable night sleep. I don't recommend this hotel in summer unless they fit air con.

The staff member here was lovely, particularly a lady who had service us. The check in time is a bit annoying as it’s all the way at 3pm, you can leave your stuff which is good but if you wanted to freshen up after a long travel you of course can’t. The room was nice a bit, could of been a bit cleaner, the bathroom was horrible, could of had it cleaned it much more, didn’t feel comfortable using at all. The room was warm and had no windows for ventilation. I wouldn’t stay here again

Can’t base my review on my stay at this hotel as my bookings were cancelled because my rooms magically became unavailable. I Booked 2 seperate occasions at this hotel as I am attending shows on the dates I had booked. And just received notification that both bookings are cancelled as the rooms are now unavailable.How is this even possible? They were available when I booked them. I will probably see the rooms re advertised in a few days double the price I got them for and if this is the case it is truly shocking that they do this to customers.I will be avoiding this companies name for any further bookings I make.I have given 5 stars for the location as it was right where I needed.

The best is the attention from all the team. I had a problem and they solve it so efficient fast and easily, they are welcoming helpful and very familiar. The beds are so comfortable, the pillows also, clean and well ubicated. And very fast wifi. You have drinks available also on reception, you can leave bagagge and the breakfast was so nice also. If i ever go to Cardiff, even i have visited many other hotels and more expensive, i will defenetly stay at Citrus Hotel ;) 10/10

A very average hotel. The room was clean but the furniture was very old. It looked more like a hostel tbh.The location is good, tho. U can go to the city centre with 5 minutes walking.

I've got to start with a positive, the staff here are very friendly and very helpful and the location is good.However that is about as pleasant as I can be.This hotel is awful.The weather was cold the week I stayed and my room was absolutely freezing, so I put the heating on, which then makes the room incredibly stuffy due to no fresh air.When I got to my room there was an odd smell of earth/soil in the bathroom, it was only on the third day I noticed that the shower drain was completely full of mud and needed cleaning out, which I did. The water pressure is OK and there was always hot water though.The sound deadening is also an issue as you can hear the people in the next room crystal clear if you're sitting on the toilet which is most disconcerting.There was also a huge gap at the bottom of the main door which I had to stuff with a towel every night to stop the hall way light shining in as the hall ways seem to be permanently illuminated.To top off an all together awful stay today on my last day of staying, I was awoken at 7.30 by builders sawing and smashing holes in the hall way and some of the rooms, not what I needed before a 5 hour drive home.Considering the cost of this hotel the stay was a joke, oh and the parking is £12.80 a day no matter how long you stay!!!Won't be returning.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful thank you.The room: No air con so room was very warm, to say the least and can't open window at night to get some air. Also the windows in our rooms were frosted so couldn't even look out - OK, not the best view over the railway but it is what it is. For the price and location though, not bad but could up the price with air con system!

It's a nice hotel but I struggled to open my door, rhe card didnt seem to work or the lock was foulty. I mentioned it when checking out so hopefully they look into it. The windows could do with some cleaning/maintenance. Bathroom could do with some updates too. A big plus tho for being able to charge my phone without the wall plug as I only had USB cable with me so was gratefully for that !
