I would not even give this 1 star. Appalling service. Despite email upon email there is very little in response...what was informed would be dealt within 15 days has now stretched into 17 months...and still no further forward...

To call this place a disgrace is too kind a description for such an abhorrent and negligent organisation. Their claim that the grant of probate will be received within 8 weeks of papers being submitted is an outright lie, it is closer to 20 weeks. Trying to get an update from this place isn't worth the time and energy it takes, as you won't get any time frame to work with, and they won't provide accurate information of where they are in their astronomical backlog they've managed to create. They don't respond to any official complaints made, so this again is a waste of your time.An organisation which is dealing with peoples lives at some of their lowest, and most difficult times should aim to provide as good a service as possible, not add stress, financial burden, and uncertainty.The managers of this organisation should feel thorough embarrassment and shame for how they are allowing this place to operate.1 star is being too generous, but unfortunately zero stars is not an option. This organisation is not even close to being fit for purpose and the government should look at reforming its operations asap.

Myself and several others are beneficiaries in the will of a person who died TWO YEARS AGO. His probate procedure is more or less complete but for the fact that he is the main beneficiary in the will of his father, who predeceased him by several months. His father's probate is (not) being dealt with by Newcastle Probate Registry. Well in excess of TWO YEARS to process a straightforward probate case is utterly unacceptable, especially considering that the outcome of two wills is dependent on this office's work. A cursory online search shows that this particular probate office is the subject of countess complaints and whichever body that oversees probate procedure in the U.K. should give this office particular attention since it appears to be overwhelmed and have ground to a halt.

0 stars, I omly selected 1 star as I had to select a rating. I applied for a probate for my late Aunty in March. In July I was told the application had been recieved and the cheque had been cashed. I then was told the application would be looked at on 6th September. I'm now being told it will be 3 weeks before the application is looked at (mid October). Terrible service, I had the same problem last year with the land registry.

This office is a shambles. My solicitors applied for probate in Dec 2022 and we are now in October 2023 and still no probate. Both myself and my solicitors have made formal complaints via the Judicial service over 5 weeks ago and still no joy. They need a serious shake up. I am a sole beneficiary and struggling to pay a hefty mortgage but have a sale ready to proceed once probate granted. Any other business would have to provide compensation for incompetence

Can't even put in to words how disgraceful this service. We have been waiting 4 months and still nothing. We keep getting asked the same question then going to the bottom of the pile which then takes six weeks" You can't ring up as they say i will just look at your details and then hang up knowing full well that you will be on hold for an over hour (this has happened 6 times). We've officially complained online and heard nothing back. Who monitors these people because the whole service is a joke run by the rudest people i've ever had to deal with."

I've never had to deal with such a shocking service in all my life. It's been over a year since we started this process and they still haven't granted probate.We corrected one of the witnesses email addresses over 6 months ago and turns out they're still using the old one on the system. For nearly 2 months a questionnaire has apparently been sat there doing nothing because they don't have the foresight to chase it up with a letter or a phone call or even contact me (head of estate) to get things going again.Everything takes forever and it's always me chasing them up to see what's going on. They've already sent questionnaires to both the witnesses previously and even emailed me for even more information but with no explanation as to why. Constantly left in the dark, honestly what more do they need! it's a straight forward will and estate to sort out and it's been strung out (so far) for 13 months!Complete joke of a service and they don't care what affect it has on the people trying to sort it all out. They're more than happy for key information / processes just to sit there and do nothing until someone calls up chasing. And when you do get things going it's always call back in 3-4 weeks to see if there's an update".This place should be audited and totally reworked

Rang to ask for some advice. The person I spoke to was imo extremely unhelpful. I assumed at that time because it was late in the day?!After repeating the question 4 times and getting a non committal response each time I was naturally frustrated and was then told I was raising my voice! This was not the case and I then accepted the fact that this individual was either being deliberately unhelpful or did not understand the question and ended the call. A desperate training need either way... very very poor service

Slow non existent service ….holding up probate for month after month …no explanation …no interest .i truly think that probate should enter the 21st century ..i cannot see any amount of work demand taking so many many months .it’s downright obstructive service dragging out form filling with endless delays …this is totally unacceptable in the modern world where there are so many different quicker ways to process paperwork legalities but I guess if the human element is unbothered by this appalling delay then technology can’t be used to help .A disgrace on all counts …shame on this place
