Vicky was recommended to us by another dog trainer after ongoing resource guarding issues that escalated around the same time as the birth of our first baby. We were also looking for help with more general obedience- recall, jumping up etc. Vicky was an amazing support, she was very thorough and provided practical, non-judgemental advice that made a difference quickly. We had previously sought help from other trainers to resolve the resource guarding with no success. Prior to Vicky's help we thought there might be a real chance we would need to rehome our beloved dog, but now we feel confident our baby and dog will be safe together. Months later, Vicky continues to check in with us and answer any questions that crop up. Without a doubt we recommend Vicky to anyone needing support with their dog from minor obedience right through to more serious behaviour problems.

Vicky really helped us understand how to support Sachi with her behavioural issues driven by fear and dominance, within a week she was a different dog (for the better of course!) We're still working on the training daily and have seen huge improvements. We were sceptical at first about getting a behaviourist, but if you too have a rescue dog (ours is from Romania) starting to show signs of aggression or any sort of behavioural issue then I encourage you to give Vicky a call to help you through your training, small price to pay for a huge change.

Vicky is one of those rare people with great knowledge which she wears lightly. Her analysis and and advice is invariably clear and achievable. Our pooch had developed a habit of barking at any passing dog ( especially in the car) or anyone who came to the front door. Vicky helped us fix it. Chica is a complex dog and we haven't been able to iron out all her issues around socialising with other dogs but Vicky has given us a great start. The great dilemma if you love your pooch to bits is how to stay in charge. That's another thing Vicky helped us understand. She doesn't perform miracles. But she's close.

Vicky created a plan for Rusty Labradoodle & he is improving daily, there aren’t any fights over treats with his two companions anymore. He is learning that meeting other dogs on lead isn’t that scary really! Vicky gave us brilliant advice on how to manage undesirable behaviour - highly recommended

Vicky has been great she is always there to help and willing to listen she is the only behaviourist that has given me all the advice and help that I needed. I now have a more relaxed lovable cockerpoo, I would recommend her to anyone.

Vicky came to help us with our Patterdale Scooby, he was very reactive with people and other dogs. She gave us the tools to deal with these situations and he has calmed down greatly, it is a work in progress but we know Vicky is always at the end of a phone or mail if we need any help or support. Vicky is excellent - she made. Areal difference to our dog's behaviour on her first visit, and helped us to see what we haf been doing to reinforce the wrong behaviours, and our dog is much calmer around the house and in pubs/cafes as a result. We then moved on to recall training and Vicky has given us some really good techniques which are actually delivering results. Thanks Vicky!!

I have a German Shepherd (Ella) who had a few issues, the main one being aggression towards other dogs. I'd grown up with Shepherds so thought I knew enough to be able to cope with and correct this but I was very wrong. She was obviously a nightmare to take out so we had to take her out at a time when we were least likely to meet anyone. In desperation I reluctantly decided I needed help from an expert and on searching for a dog behaviourist I came across the wonderful Vicky Lawes whose help I enlisted. Vicky is a lovely lady with a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on, we immediately felt at ease and it wasn't long before I realised there was some hope for Ella. Don't get me wrong Vicky sadly doesn't possess a magic wand but after trying different things, one being meeting other dogs in a controlled situation, it became apparent to Vicky that Ella was only acting aggressively because she was frightened which, having previously discussed Ella's history, Vicky realised was because she hadn't been socialised enough as a puppy due to medical problems. With hands-on guidance from Vicky, we (us and Ella) all had to learn how to change Ella's behaviour. With a lot of ongoing perseverance from us we now have a German Shepherd that can walk past other dogs with no problem and can even stop and calmly sniff a dog she's seen out quite often so is comfortable with.
