Glenlea Surgery

One of the worst practices I've ever been registered with. The doctors and nurses are all very nice & professional but obviously incredibly understaffed. It's nigh on impossible to get through on the phone at 8am. Impossible to get a same day appointment. I recently had to get a bus to A&E because I was left in a telephone queuing system for over one and a quarter hours (at position number one for almost 40 minutes) which I decided to hang up on. Turned out I have shingles which needed immediate medication. Something I wouldn't have got at Glenlea.

The GP experience in England is an absolute shambles right now, and no one seems interested in fixing it.If you need an appointment then you better hope you called at exactly 08:00 and you are one of the first in the queue, otherwise better luck next time! Please try your luck at the 12:00 lottery instead.Need to go to work? Not a luxury you can afford if you wish to book an appointment at the doctors! You must remain on hold until you get through to the receptionist, then you must be available at whatever time they give you.How is it possible that in 2023 we STILL can't book appointments in advance? Why can't we book online?I appreciate that the government are doing their best to destroy the NHS, but I feel like Glenlea could be doing things to make getting in to see a doctor an easier experience. Or at least actually possible...

The practice is amazing but just a bit of extra appreciation for Miella, she is so professional and speak to patients with empathy and treats patients fairly, every experience I have had with her on the phone has always gone above and beyond, I feel very comfortable discussing personal information with this lady and although I have never met her I believe she deserves a lot of credit for the amazing lady she is, thank you for all your help it doesn't go unnoticed.Danielle Stansfield.

Been calling for nearly a week now just for a phone call appointment to finally get through today to be told no appointment left It took from 8am till 8.40 to speak to someone I've got a chest infection just need antibiotics to be told go to a walk in centre well if walk in centre have less doctors but more people to see why carnt our own doctors see or call us what are they getting paid for ? Looks like we all have to start going to walk in centre to make sure we keep well and safe from now on .......

I sent a message to the surgery, to say my repeat prescription was due over the Christmas period and could they please do it early for me, so that I was covered... Nothing! So I've had to order when I am supposed to and now I am left without medication... Brilliant work! It's all gone downhill since Dr Lee retired. The doctors are still in hiding, but still don't fulfill their roles properly!!! I only have faith in one doctor there, but sadly she's part time... I'll be looking for another surgery in the New Year.

Called today three times and tried to book an appointment. First time the answering machine said that their surgery experiencing a high volume and they will not be able to deal with my query now, asked to call late.Second time I called about 11:40 and was 17 in the queue. I was waiting about 30 minutes to speak with operator and she said they don’t have empty slots and asked to call in 20 minutes as they clean the system after 12:00 and probably I will manage to book an appointment.Third time I called and it was the same no one answered the phone except answering machine which said again that they cannot help me.Fourth time I called and it was the sameI couldn’t get even an advise! So disappointed! This is inappropriate! On NHS website they write advises like “with these symptoms you have to see your GP asap” in real life it’s impossible to book an appointment!!! Horrible service! Will highly NOT RECOMMEND !

Too many poor experiences from this surgery. Contacted them last Wednesday asking for an appointment after letting the receptionist know I had an insect bite and my leg was swollen.Try again at 12... guess what... rang at 12 only to be caller 17 in line.No appointment made. Called 111 that same evening as I got a high fever and struggled walking. Out of hours doctor almost admitted me to hospital. Thank goodness the antibiotics kicked in.This is one of many times I have tried to make an appointment at this surgery. Really poor service.

Waste of time, may as well close down. Impossible for a working man to get an appointment. They just tell you to go to the walk in clinic. This was after taking 20 minutes to answer the phone. Lazy doctors.

I think Glenlea surgery is improving. It is still hard to get an appointment, but much easier than it was a few years ago. It's great that you are told where you are in the queue when waiting to speak to a receptionist. If you call at the right times you can pretty much always get an appointment - at least that's my experience recently. Definitely big improvements!

This practice just lie to there patients and have no empathy what so ever .Was told a doctor would call between 2pm and 6pm..Guess what no call from doctor.Tried to call the practice just after 6pm and theare closed
