My friend insisted we visit as she had been wanting to visit for a while, I loved the ambience and location, all great factors when choosing Vocation. I tried a couple of beers, all of great quality, as well as the bacon and cheese loaded fries, delicious. The loaded fries are a perfect portion for one as well as offering sharing portions, which looked phenomenal but didn't try.

Lads behind the bar were friendly and knowledgeable. Shared some loaded chips, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes and gravy - honestly some of tastiest pub food I've ever had.

Lively bar close to the centre of Sheffield, serving a range of excellent Vocation beers and many guests too. Well worth a visit!

Staff really friendly. The rhubarb cider is the best cider I have ever had, I am very sad I didn’t find out about it until after I graduated and left Sheffield

Vocation is my favourite Yorkshire Brewery (if not my favourite brewery), so was delighted to discover that their new Sheffield bar had finally opened, as I used to enjoy their bar at Assembly Leeds and their Hebden Bridge taproom.Had a couple of pints of Bread & Butter and shared chesse & bacon fries and chicken tenders. The chicken was good quality, tasty breast meat with a very thin, spicy coating and the sharing fries were sublime.Friendly staff and delicious food. Will be back again for food and beers very soon.

Atmosphere and location is nice, we only found it trying to find the old house which says it's still open on Google and had a great menu inc. Vegan options. Unfortunately I was massively disappointed as the burgers are basic and over priced. Asked for the chicken burger vegan as I don't like beef style burgers and it came with a beef style burger regardless of the fact they sell vegan chicken strips which should go in the vegan chicken burger. Messy, basic, over priced vegan food. When I e waited with the server he wa useless so I left half my food and paid full price. Waste of money.

The bar staff are great and so is the beer which is served in a wide range of measures so you're not always stuck with a pint if you've taken a gamble on something fruity (although the staff are always happy to give tasters). The chips are brilliant, but the vegan burger I had was pretty bland with most of the flavour coming from a fatty sauce and pretty boring bun. Really could have done with some salad for extra texture, flavour, and to balance out the fatty saltyness of the burger.Atmosphere is okay, it's a nice place to hang out but is very bright and white which gives it a bit of an office vibe. Will still be going back fairly regularly but will probably eat elsewhere.

Have been a few times and it's been a comfortable, bright, clean and friendly place, but on a recent visit, when it was absolutely empty inside, I took refuge with a friend to sit and enjoy an evening when within 5 minutes one of the bar staff confronted us at the table and fairly passive aggressively shook us down asking us for a food or drinks order. It's not a table service place and we would've gone at our accord but this felt like a threat to order or leave.I also have a rule that any where which charges for soda water (plain) isn't a respectable venue, and when ordering a soda water I was charged £1.50. I don't think we'll be returning or recommending business again after such an awkward and uncomfortable experience with the changing bar staff. Most are friendly but it seemed this younger member had a problem with us being there.
