LWT Dental Care

Dr Tootell is great. I've been seeing him for a number of years and had my first filling recently. Always a nervous experience but he was very informative, relaxed and friendly - everything you want from a dentist. Always a quick and pleasant experience, which most people can't say about their dentists! the surgery is clean and well maintained. Receptionist are welcoming, always seen on time. 5/5 would recommend!

I was very pleased with the work that Richard did on my damaged tooth this week. It now looks like a new tooth. It was a very positive visit. Many thanks for fitting me in at short notice.

9 min late for an appointment, on one of the busiest roads in Sheffield, offering no parking. I even called to say I maybe late and when I turned up I was asked to rebook an appointment. I declined their offer.

i have been here a few times in my life pre-covid and unfortunately each appointment has been successively worse than the one before. i only go for routine checkups every 6 months or so and mainly my gripe is that my dentist does not do a thorough enough clean after examinations. The last straw at my last appointment came when staff, in my opinion, were too busy giggling and fooling around with eachother while I was in the chair instead of paying attention to the procedure, which seemed to be over before it barely started. When I got home I checked my mouth and the scale and polish was as I suspected, slap dash and placque still left behind everywhere. Yes, I could have called and asked for redo but frankly I shouldn't have to micromanage my dentist. if you are putting sharp tools in someone's mouth you should be focusing on that instead of goofing off. It might have been a brief moment of mirth and carelessness/lack of professionalism on their part but it made me so uncomfortable that, coupled with the less than satisfactory visits on previous occasions, it put me off and I haven't been back since.The trouble is with this country now you feel you have to accept whatever you're given, because everything is under strain. I am sure everyone working as an NHS dentist wishes they had more time to dedicate to their patients but they don't, and they probably won't for many years to come. It's a really unfortunate situation all around and therefore doesn't feel fair to rate lower than 3 because my experience was not malicious, it might not have even been down to lack of skill - it simply fell short.

I've been a patient of this practice for quite a while, initially with Russell was fine at first,but when I had problems became very nonchalant,and even aggressive in his approach because I questioned his procedure to a ongoing problem he raised he voice during treatment at that point I sort getting treated by someone else in the practice.then to find that I had lots of issues that had never been mentioned to me!!!! This was to my long term detrimentI have since sort proper dental carecare abroad , massive difference

Receptionists speaking over each other which is really rude, Rachael Hallas (dentist) provides no treatment options, did a terrible job at crown replacement with lots of drilling after applying the new crown that now it has sharp edges that catch the tongue and a roughened surface and a hole in the centre?! Food always catches and stays there! I'm worried now that the new crown will not last long with the battered job I got. They had a trainee nurse, didn't bother asking me if I'm happy for her to be there. They were more concerned about time than patient care. They forgot to remove a cheek gauze from my mouth, didn't offer a rinse after Rachael finished her drilling. My mouth was covered with blue/grey particles. Terrible experience with this surgery thus far. I need a second opinion on this new crown if anyone has recommendations please respond to this. Thanks.

My wife and child are registered at this practise and I had my first appointment today after months of waiting. Unfortunately I missed it - my own fault. However I am usually extremely organised and punctual and could cite (I think with some justification) recent difficulties both private and professional for the error.I realised when my calendar flagged it and immediately called to apologise. It appears there is no quarter for mitigating circumstances and the dentist in question has refused to take me.By all accounts this is a good practise, of which my wife speaks highly, and of course it was my mistake for missing the appointment. I rate lowly because this one strike rule just seems a little harsh.Additional, for clarity as I feel the response is misleading. I was offered an alternative appointment but with a student dentist. Whilst some may be comfortable with this I would rather a fully qualified dentist. I do not consider that to be an equivalent proposition.

Reception ladies are lovely. They tried their best to find an appointment for me when I really needed it. Thank you so much.
