I was a bit weary about sending my daughter to the school as read all the negative comments but must admit, so glad I decided to try it for myself. My daughter has been at the school since december. Very pleased with her learning, friendly staff and senior staff are very attentive to any concerns I had with her late start and settled in very nicely. Overall do not have any complaints and happy with the school. Would highly recommend.

PARENT TO PARENT do not send your child there. The levels of bullying and fighting the children have to witness and be drawn into as victim is at a level I've never seen before. My child was attacked by 2 older boys whilst on school grounds. It was left in the hands of Miss Jones to investigate the matter. Days later after when she failed to investigate one of the same boys came after my child again but this time without his partner to help him out my child got the better of him in which I was called into the school for my child's behaviour. When I asked why the children who started this mess were still in school Miss Jones replied she could not find them to get statements so she could get to the bottom of it. I did not understand this as the children go to form rooms twice a day she could of found them then. May I add her attitude and tone of voice was disgusting. When I suggested ways that she could of found the children to investigate properly so that this incident did not have to occur she looked dead in my face squinted her eyes and threw the pen she had in her hands on the table. I could see she was rattled and I could sense the tension. At this point she started winding me up as she made the room intense whilst my child is sitting in the room with us and she is not giving me any answers to my questions. There was no point to the meeting so I walked out on her taking my child. I do.not condone violence but that seem to be the only way to get bullies to stop tormenting my child for a while. Let it also be known teachers stick up for teachers they cannot afford to have a bad reputation. Let it be known Miss Jones is not the only disrepectful, unprofessional incompetent individual with lack of people skills a of few of the teachers there are. You could be on the premises and teachers walk by you as though they don't see you when they should question who you are or who your looking for when you have to move from building to building to find rooms for meeting as the school Is not under one roof.

My advice from a mother of four children within this school do not send your child to fortis academy under any circumstances, The teachers are disrespectful immature and abusive and racial towards the pupils with no training on how to conduct themselves or control anything they developed personal vendettas towards children. They have teaching assistants teaching classes who are not qualified for this, they run the school like a prison ensuring pupils are regularly put in isolation or long durations of detention for minor issues without contacting parents resulting in children leaving school at late times which is a big safeguarding issue and is not appropriate. The headteacher is nasty, rude and non caring to your concerns and a good liar if you can even get to see him as your often entertained by the non caring deputy head. During the 3 years of involvement within the school my kids have been emotionally, physically and mentally abused which I have video evidence as I asked my kids to record when they feel threatened and it’s pushed under the carpet by staff which I will be taking this further. Your child will not learn within this school just develop behaviour problems, and a bad report at the end. The school itself is in bad condition not fit for children to learn in prisons are in better condition check it out for yourself. In all there is nothing good to say about this school and ofstead should shut this school down and start again for the sake of childrens education and wellbeing.

If you gain some kind of enjoyment from standing outside of locked doors for an hour while waiting for substitute teachers to possibly show up, Fortis Academy is the right choice. The police cars and ambulances often parked outside really complete the experience, and the complementary gum provided underneath each desk really is a prime example of the generosity you'll be subjected to at Fortis. The staff at Fortis are generally very good, especially those who stay for more than five weeks, and it's always a joy to see a member of staff who hasn't left the school in pursuit of a more appealing pay-check.If you expect a genuine and consistent learning experience, good luck to you. At Fortis you will go through so many different teachers and teaching styles that you'll waste most of your time there repeating topics or spending too long on one topic. The school was always very disorganized pre-pandemic and not much has changed in that regard. The school struggles with keeping staff and has to outsource jobs to substitute teachers, resulting in a mess of repeated lessons because of poor communication regarding cover work.In my experience, most of the substitute teachers aren't passionate about their jobs and don't practice what they preach (when they can be bothered to preach anything at all). It's almost a miracle that some of those people made it all the way from job applications, to interviews, to arriving in front of me and classmates just to sit there and do absolutely nothing at all for up to two hours.Meanwhile, senior staff stay busy by running around giving entire classes ultimately useless lectures, and remarkably waste even more time than I knew was humanly possible before I attended Fortis Academy.Other than that, it's a nice school. Some staff actually are passionate about their jobs, and they do practice what they preach. Hopefully this is just my experience with the school and it improves in the future because I would hate for anybody else to have to go through that disorganized, dirty, overcrowded mess of an education.

They don't care about the children all they care about is the uniform. They speak to children with disrespect. Some of the teachers are rude especially one of the pe teachers. Not a good environment. Don't recommend treat everyone differently have favourites. They need to sort them self out. Toilets are not clean always short on staff always teachers leaving. They have spoiled brats which are the favs. In pe all the kids get treated different they would on talk to the sporty people and the ones that ent sporty out moan at them all the time don't goDON'T GO OR SEND UR CHILD THERE

This is probably the worst school i have ever encountered in my life. Ineffectual teachers who really REALLY DO NOT CARE! They have complete indifference to any problems or difficulties your child may experience. Bullying pervades the school like a disease which they refuse to acknowledge let alone do anything about. Tried to speak to Ms Jones about the difficulties my son was experiencing but was met with an obnoxious, arrogant and dismissive attitude that only a prison officer would have justification in affecting. I asked the headteacher for a copy of the school curriculum in October 2016 I am yet to receive this. Having read the other posts about this school I can truly say that they are accurate. If you have any other choice please do not send your child here. It will be the worst mistake you ever made for your child. I have spent the entire day today desperately trying to find another school for my son. This school doesn't deserve a star but unfortunately you have to give one to post.

THE SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE!I started a few weeks ago and already hate it.u don't learn anything from the school and gums under the desk are disgusting.no cleaners and flooded toilets and I got stuck twice I theBathroom cause of mean girls locking the front. Teachers are horrible and rude and expect children to respect them.food is disgusting and I had to pray somewhere dirty and interrupt me and my friends while praying.miss Craigg is the only nice teacher I know and I'm lucky that I have her everyday. No drinking water allowed in class.the lunch ladies give muslim people pork and it's against the religion.i hope the school shuts down as soon as possible.it doesn't deserve even a star.cameras everywhere(even toilets)my parents said I'm going to leave the school to prince Albert which is a better option than fortis

If I could rate this atrocious school lower than a 1 star I would! This is possibly the worst school in England! The teachers can't teach children are dropping in grades, if a concerned parent tries to contact the school it's impossible to speak to an actual human who is within the senior department. This school is over subscribed over crowded... no boundaries, rules or regulations. The head hasn't a clue what she's doing. I've been contacting the school since September 2016 and to date I've had nothing back! If this is how the school deals with concerned parents then it's far worse than appalling! I am stuck with my child in this school as I'm struggling to move him!To sum it all up.... I'd strongly advise not to send your children to this ridiculous place which is called a SCHOOL!

some of the teachers are good but they are all leaving bc the school is too broke to pay them now we are left with the bad ones. most of the teachers dont rlly care about their students tbh. some of the food buss icl but most of them taste like b@tty crease. some of the teachers dont even know how to teach and some of the teachers dont know how to deal with situations eg. bullying.overall the school is ok but the food and the teachers are quite bad.
