Sarah Smith Veterinary Cardiology

We took our cat on the recommendation of our vet to see if anything more could be done for her.Two of the staff were lovely but Sarah Smith was, a) rude to my wife and b) tried to get us to take our beloved cat to The Pride on a Friday afternoon.When I pushed to say would this really help she said probably not as she hasn’t got much life left!(Our cat was put to sleep on the Sunday afternoon in our house with our vet and veterinary nurse who were so empathetic.)Then they didn’t have the meds to ease the discomfort of our cat so sent us to Etwall Vets( they were superb.)When we came to pay the bill it was a lot more than quoted.Hopefully ours was a blip but on our visit, mid afternoon on a Friday we didn’t get the care we are so used to getting at our own outstanding vets.I’ve just had long discussion with Sarah and I’m sure this was a one off and that those who go to the practice will get very good care for their beloved pets.We all want the best for our cats and dogs.Thank you for phoning me even though the line wasn’t great due to the poor mobile reception in my area.

The vet bills here are extortionate - 2k nearly for 2 visits if you don’t have insurance it’s going to be extremely costly. My pet passed away in November and I’ve just been chased for money from last July it’s now nearly a year later - made out it was left this late not to upset me I think it’s more to do with the end of the tax year and a oversight - quite upsetting after all this time to have to look up old claims and back statements - no apologies from them. Will an avoid in future for sure.

My 10 year old Chinese Crested dog was ereferred to Sarah Smith in March. He is a rescue dog and very temperamental. He did not want to cooperate with what was going on and had to be held very firmly. I was most embarrassed. They were very patient and understanding.Then we had a return visit in September . We were treated with the same courtesy but I was worried about Topsy 's behavior. This time was very different. Topsy cooperated in every way to my relief. Again I was updated on Topsy's condition in a very clear way and given advice about medication. I felt that we were given 100%attention.

Friendly helpful staff. They seem to have good procedures about pet safety and ensuring they don't escape during outside handover due to Covid. The vet I saw Ruth did a good job explaining my pets heart issues in layman's terms. They have literally saved my cats life when my non-specialist vet (Who I also recommend) reach the end of their treatment options.

I want thank everyone at Sarah Smith Cardiology from the bottom of my heart! Ruth and Sarah were absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend them enough. They were professional, compassionate and incredibly reassuring from the consultation right through until after surgery. Our 12 week old puppy was diagnosed with PDA and they went above and beyond to ensure that she received the best treatment possible in a caring and attentive way. She is now on the road to recovery. Once again, thank you all.

My wife and I took our dog Luna for a consultation. We were all received and made every welcome. During the consultation we were involved and kept informed every step of the way. We left feeling very happy and well informed about our Luna's condition. We would like to thank Ruth the cardiologist and Emma the nurse for the care we all received.

Right from the outset , the attention and care given to not only our dog , but to us , was outstanding !.Throughout his examination , Dylan remained calm and relaxed whilst his procedure took place .To be able to stay with him , was so comforting , and talking of comfort , he wasn't just on a standard vets table , he had really nice padding under him , with a nice cosy blanket on top , and a lovely lady ( Emma ) gently holding him and keeping him calm . He looked that comfortable , I wouldn't have been surprised , if he had gone to sleep !.I was able to be at his head to stroke and soothe him , but I think he would have been just as relaxed if it was just Emma with him !.During his procedure , Katie ( The cardiology specialist ) , explained everything that was happening ,and what would happen next , and was so informative , telling me what I was seeing on the screen . She was SO thorough , and happily answered any questions I had .Luckily for us , the news was better than expected , and we were 100% happy to know that , if ever Dylan did need treatment , we could not take him anywhere better .Everyone we saw , was so friendly , and helpful , including on the phone , when we spoke to Deborah .Thank you Sarah Smith Cardiology , you are all such caring , friendly , kind people .
