The Groom Room Darlington

I picked me dog up after a puppy groom for my dog to be sick twice on the way home, even know I picked the dog up and was told she was good as gold. I phoned the branch when I got home and got my dog settled, I told the customer advisor that I had just picked me dog up and took her home, baring in mind it was 2 hours later at this point for the customer advisor to say my dogs name, which I had not given any information to the customer advisor, the customer advisor then said she was very stressed and it was probably just because of stress as to the reason why she was sick. Which makes me think my dog had been sick in their care, I do not trust any service that makes my dog stressed to he point of sickness. Utterly disturbing and horrific! My dog was sick twice all over herself and my car so the groom was completely pointless too.

Unfortunately not the experience we’d hoped for. My long haired giant breed has come home from his first groom with the groom room, and is shedding more than before, I’ve had to brush him for an hour to get the remaining loose hair out. He was booked in for a de-shed and general groom. His ear hair has been cut very bluntly and he looks absolutely ridiculous. He doesn’t even smell good. We were hoping for much better, we won’t be returning.

After our terrible experience at Pets at home groom room, I felt compelled to warn other poor dog owners. This is my first ever review, but if I had listened to other people I have chatted to, I would never have used their service.Our beautiful bedlington terrier cross, went for a full groom 2 weeks ago, which I hoped would be a positive experience for her. She was distressed when my husband collected her Tuesday teatime, and the next morning there was blood oozing under each eye. We left it another day, and she woke up on the Thursday with streaks of blood down her face, and in some distress. We took her to the groom room first thing that morning, and the Manager could not have been more rude.We were hoping that they had insurance to deal with such mishaps, as the groomer had clearly misused her blade and we felt, they should be liable.First the manager said that our dog had conjunctivitis, which is a joke, as her eyes were clear, and the blood was coming from under her eyes.Then the Manager told me to stick some savlon on it.When I said that I was taking our dog to the vet, he remarked that they would only try and rip me off with antibiotics, she did not need.Obviously we requested to speak to the person in charge of the groom room, and as she was working at another shop that day, and we were going on holiday. The Manager took photos of our poor dog, upon our request. He promised to email the pictures to the appropriate person, we gave him our details, and he said that the person in charge of the groom room would get back to us as soon as possible.We are still waiting!!!!Please think twice before using this service. Our dog still bears the scars, and will never be going back.

Just picked my dog up and I'm so pleased with her new haircut she seems happy as well bouncing around ☺️ the girls are great and very good with my dog

Depends on who you get. Have been twice previously and had no issues. Got a younger girl yesterday who didn't really want to listen to what I wanted, and must've thought oh she doesn't mean that" and done her own thing. Very disappointed

Brilliant. They have groomed our dogs 4 times now. Great staff and very convenient. Highly recommended.

Don't bother. You could do a better job yourself. Cicker spaniel came out looking no different, apart from her body.

Awful and disgusting service! Please don't use this place. Had my dog booked in only to be told the appointment was cancelled when I turned up. Apparently they tried to contact me (one voicemail) asking for a deposit. There was no mention of the deposit in the voicemail just confirming the time of the booking. I was confronted by a young staff member who was rude, aggressive and very unhelpful. Avoid at all cost
