We are bespoke metalwork company and we use Roundwood for various hardwood materials to use on our bespoke hardwood gates and staircases. Good service, excellent price with in-house cutting services available. We have used Roundwood for several years now, very happy with the products and service.Creative Metal Design Ltd

I ordered 3 planters for window boxes which were discounted due to uneven edges. The planters look great and you can’t notice the edges now they are full of plants. They are really smart and sturdy and look like they will weather well. Excellent customer service and prompt delivery. Thank you :)

I ordered 2 x 100cm Polystone Trough Planter and one planter broke during the delivery and the other planter broke in less than 24 hours of being delivered.I was disappointed with the quality of the product that was advertised as a highly durable Polystone but I was even more disappointed with the customer service that I received. The planter broken during delivery was taken back by the driver and the other planter was left on an even surface and with nothing around it that could have put any stress on it. In less that 24h, a crack appeared in the planter. When I contacted Roundwood of Mayfield, I explained what happened, and requested the return of the product because I wasn't happy with the quality of the product. Roundwood insisted that I had to pay for the original shipping cost and return shipping cost (around £50 each). In my opinion, any returns policy that says I have to cover the cost of returning items must only relate to the situation where I change my mind about the item ordered and not where there is a problem with the item. And, in my case, the product wasn't of satisfactory quality when I received it, otherwise it wouldn't have cracked as it did in less than 24 hours. In the end, given the shipping cost of the return was half of the value of the product, I decided to unhappily keep the product and try to make some use of it during its short lifetime.

Bought a lovely wooden tub to use a a water feature because my old one broke apart. I have put a plastic liner inside and it looks beautiful. Very good value, well wrapped for delivery which was speedy.

I recently purchased Balau decking from this company and although generally the wood is reasonable, things could be better considering how much the timber costs.Firstly, the service was fine up until the point of the order being placed. I had to chase for a delivery date which due to delays meant that I missed my installation date and had to find someone else to install it. Then despite sending several queries regarding the order I am yet to get a response some 5 weeks later. Some of my queries I have since had to seek guidance elsewhere on as they were installation questions.Several of the decking boards are completely unsafe to walk on due to extreme sharp shards and very rough surfaces. Whilst I appreciate that the timber is variable, these are not fit for sale and given the cost, should not have been put on the delivery. These are now scrap.A long section of handrail was clearly much older than the others and had completely faded. There is no way it can be installed next to the other handrails, luckily I changed my design to need less handrail but still that is wasted money.I would have thought that this could have been sorted prior to sending out. I appreciate that the wood is variable but nobody wants to install timber that is at different stages of its weathering down process. All in all, reasonable timber but could be better.

I purchased two large white fibreglass planters. They are excellent. When they arrived, one had been damaged in transit. I emailed Roundwood and they immediately sent a replacement which arrived the next day, without any quibbling, even though the damage was almost certainly not down to them. That's my idea of Customer Service, and inspires confidence - I have now ordered two more!

Having read all the reviews for Roundwood and seen the comments about poor customer service, I decided to still drive over 4hrs in a day to go and hand select the timber I wanted as it was for a nice deck project I was finishing at home.I was told I couldn't select the actual timber but having viewed most of it, it was all of high quality so that should not have mattered. Furthermore, it was all skimmed prior to delivery to make the thickness consistent and clean up the faces. What turned up, albeit in only 2 days, was not as good as I had seen. It was bent, warped, twisted and worst of all, cupped. And while I appreciate it's a natural product, the boards I looked at weren't any of these so it's almost like they selected the worst boards for me.But what was most annoying was the fact that it turned up with chips in it, having been banged into something; knots that I had not noticed in any other boards; and machining mistakes where the guys haven't supported the boards and it took bigger chunks it of it.To be fair, most of the wood was of good quality, so this review is about the manager's, Toby Bryant, response or lack thereof, to even discuss the issues. I sent him a long clear email with photos of issues I had and asked him just to ring to discuss. I did not ask for anything other than a phone call. I followed this up several times and left messages (by this point the deck was in so it was more just to see his attitude to customer service) with not any sort of response or contact. In short, if you want a good price (they list on eBay - should say enough) and happy to risk customer service for it, then fine. Just be warned that once you pay your cash over, it seems you're of little use to them anymore and you're on your own.

I bought 2 staddle stone for a pergola we were building on site. They were delivered directly to site and once opened we found one was damaged. It was quite frustrating, but I called roundwood who sent a replacement late afternoon Thursday (same day about an 2 hours after initial call) and it arrived Friday morning at 10am. You can’t ask for better customer service than that. It delayed the job by all of about an hour. Thanks for a good service would use you again.

One item purchased - and we love it! Just couldn't resist the natural rust cast in iron puppy dog statue. It was hiding in the garden on my husband's birthday (though he would have liked a real one!). Everyone loves our puppy - such great quality. Great service, excellent packaging and a quality product. Thanks Round Wood.
