Barchester - Ross Court Care Home
Ross Court is a lovely home to work.residents are well looked after.I have worked at the home for over 8 years.I love getting involved with activities, at Easter we decorated wooden spoons and put on display in local village. a couple of weeks ago we bought a griddle machine, the residents got involved making Welsh cakes and today we made pancakes with fresh fruit.I concider myself to be a resident buddy, everyone feels like part of my family.we recently bought a minibus, so hopefully soon we will be back out on weekly trips visiting garden centres, and picnics in parks can't wait. They always look forward to getting out.Because we haven't been allowed due to covid, I have been taking photos of the daffodils and all the pretty blossom and shown them to the residents. The bluebells are just beginning to come out so our first trip will be hopefully to see them.

My Mother has been at Ross Court over a year now and recently celebrated her 100th birthday, a milestone we were not expecting her to reach a few months previously. However, thanks to the good care given to her by the lovely team, we as a family were able to celebrate this very special occasion with our lovely Mum, Nanny, Grandma, Auntie and we were truly grateful for that. Hayley the social events organizer decorated a room beautifully for Mums party and the manager Amy and deputy Meg went over and above to make Mum look nice for her special day. Along with all the other carers on shift that day who cared for Mum so well enabling us to make memories that will live with us all forever. Although Ross Court is a residential home not a nursing home, Mums increasing needs have been met by the excellent care team supported by the district nurses when required, this has enabled Mum to stay at Ross court and whilst she isn't up to joining in all the activities on offer, when she is able to she enjoys the company of others as well as regular visits from family who are always made to feel welcome and part of the home.

My Mum is resident at Ross Court Care Home and I am her son and living in the USA. I would like to make it known that since Agda (The Manager) arrived at Ross Court Care Home, it has gone from an acceptable care home to outstanding!! The level of service and care has become exceptional. As I am a considerable distance away, speaking with my Mum regularly is a lifeline as well as being kept informed of her wellbeing. This has been elevated since Agda's arrival. The team are amazing!! It gives me great comfort being so far away knowing my Mum is so well cared for. I would also like to give a particular shoutout to Debbie, Korrina, Anca, Brenda, Lesley, Josie, Mandy, Lizzie, Louise and Hayley. Forgive me if I have missed anyone out (I don't know everyone being so far away) but they have all gone above and beyond and all have my heartfelt thanks. I would recommend Ross Court Care Home in a heartbeat with Agda at the helm along with her wonderful team!

My mother has been a resident at Ross Court Care Home - Barchester for over two years. On Weds 26 April 2023, staff came into her room in the morning and told her that she was being moved to a new room without even being given notice of the move. Do you think this is acceptable? Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to let her and her family know in advance that this would be happening, and for the manager herself to break the news to her. That was her home!22 May UpdateAfter several phone calls between my family and Ross Court Barchester, we were promised “individual emails” (GM’s words) explaining the series of mishaps that our mother has suffered at Ross Court Barchester. We waited 12 days in vain, so I emailed Barchester on 16 May asking …1. Why was our mother not referred to a doctor or a nurse following her bang to the head, and why was her family not informed that she had fallen?2. Why was no notice given of the abrupt move from her room, either to our mother or to her family?3. Why did the manager herself not know that the builders would need to start their refurbishment work in her room on that day?4. Do you have a policy stipulating that a resident’s immediate family members are notified whenever they fall or hurt themselves?5. If you do have this policy, why was it not adhered to?Their response is that I should receive a reply from the GM by 16 June. Should it really take more than six weeks to provide an adequate explanation?

My 92 year old mum Margaret has enjoyed 2 stays at Ross Court over the last few months whilst we have been away. Amy, Hayley, Brenda, Louise and the whole Team at Ross Court have made mum feel very welcome from the moment she arrived. I can't praise the Team enough for their kindness and compassion. Mum has stayed in 2 different rooms both of which were lovely. The door near Room 31 can be a bit noisy but that was the only slight drawback. Mum found the food at Ross Court to be excellent and really enjoyed the weekly quiz. Hayley runs different activities every day for residents and guests to partake in if they wish. There is always something going on and new things to try. Mum was not in Ross Court for Easter, coming home a few days before. However the Team gave her an Easter egg when she left which was a lovely gesture and made her day. Mum has asked if, in future, when we are away she can go back to Ross Court for her holiday. We are very happy to oblige and would like to thank the Team for everything they do.

From the minute we dropped our Uncle off until we picked him up, we could not have asked for a better place or staff. Nothing was too much trouble. He loved the activities, dancing playing games, especially the food!!! Every member of staff we spoke to were fantastic, it is like one big family. We have no problem in booking our uncle in again. He absolutely loved everything about Ross Court Care Home.10 out of 10 for future recommendations.

The staff are all, without exception, very pleasant, friendly, helpful and caring. Mum's room is lovely and the food is well presented with a good amount of choice. Cups of tea and coffee are always being offered. There is a very good range of entertainment available.

I worked at Ross Court as a bank care assistant earlier this year when I finished my university course. This is a lovely welcoming home with beautiful gardens. The staff team are respectful of individual choice of all the residents and strive to provide a homely atmosphere especially during such difficult times.
