Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll

Still waiting on a refund from changing my booking many weeks in advance of my trip. They did immediately charge me £10 for the privilege of cancelling one night. I should have left the booking as it was and not allowed them to rent the room out for the night we didn't need. I won't book again

Ideal place for city access. Road not too busy overnight. Breakfast as usual for travel lodge, good and varied. Staff helpful and obliging. Beds good and facilities as expected. Just lacked a couple of chairs and slightly larger telly in the room tho it was quite adequate.

Good bits - staff absolutely lovely who gave a great service. Very friendly and engaging.Location was good and not too far from the old town and shopping areas.Breakfast was great with no complaints thereBad bits - Rooms were very tired and bathroom floor was filthy (see pic of underside of bath mat). The stainless steel threshold separating the room carpet and bathroom floor looked grubby so I wiped it with some damp toilet roll (see pic!). Pretty bad for any hotel but you'd expect more when you're paying £100+ for room only. I did mention it to staff and after taking my email address and being assured a voucher would be on its way, nothing has shown up 2 weeks on so I guess we can forget about that then!

The staff was to the core uncooperative, with no guest facilitation manners. The main manager couldnt keep lugage after checkout, for 2 hours. And the lame excuse was that they didnt have space in the whole big lodge. Just imagine Wifi was on paymemt, even small markets have free internet. Giving complimentary breakfast to room guests could have given them a heartattack. Worst experience.

I booked a double room but was told when I arrived to check in that there were only twin rooms left. When I finally made it to said room, my keycard didn’t work so I had to go back to reception. They then gave me a key to a different twin room, saying that the door must have been broken on the other one. I had to move rooms again on the second night of my stay (finally to a room with a double bed). The keycard to this room stopped working on the last day of my stay. There were dirty marks on the bedsheets. All a lot of added stress and not well handled by the hotel staff. I wanted to complain and ask for a refund on the final day of my stay but the reception was totally unstaffed on checkout so I just had to drop my keycard in the postbox and leave.

For 2* accommodation this was more than adequate. 2 adults, 2 children in a family room. The beds were comfortable & the rooms clean. On a fairly busy road into the city centre but not overwhelmingly disturbing, everyone slept well.A few minor issues were resolved quickly by staff, who were eager to help & a fount of very useful information. It has a small dining room but I can't comment on the food as we ate out.There is free parking & a shopping centre opposite. Bus stop is located across the road & buses took us directly into the city centre, a 10 min ride away. A convenient, good value, budget option. Would happily stay again.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was Great. Very good assortment and selection. Gluten Free options also. Family room was spotless with a good size double bed or bigger and 2 single beds. With the Free car park ideal. Bus stops near by so easy to get in and out of city centre or approx 40 45 min straight walk.

Just back from staying at this hotel, over for the Edinburgh cup.Had a fabulous time room's clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely warm and fresh every morning. Big thank u to Melvin who is part of the hotel staff and made us all so welcome and nothing was any trouble. Big thank u from us all from the parents the coaches our players and of course Oliver (Aka Little Prime Man )

I booked this hotel by recommendations from colleagues. Unfortunately I made a mistake with the booking anad saw that I took the saver fee instead of flexible.At the time of this review, the phone number of the hotel is not up to date and does not work, so I had to go through customer services.Customer services said that they can't change it. And I crossed finger that nothing happens.Now, a day before my travel, I test positive for COVID, have to cancel everything. And now I am out of pocket of some money with this booking because even though they can add the extras to your ticket very easily, they can't make you pay the ~10% saving to upgrade to flexible. Great business model.Travelodge customer support is abysmal not even adressing why the phone number is not correct and not having solution for simple mistakes like this.And the kicker: I did purchase extras with my ticket, and since the ticket itself is saver fee, the extra are not refundable as well. Amazing policy to have.I will have other trips to Edinburgh to take in the future, and will not recommend this chain of hotels to colleagues.

Very comfortable bed. Paid an extra £10 for late check out (2pm). Helpful staff. Good place for no nonsense accomodation. Basic but comfortable.
