So glad this pub wasn't far from the donkey . Had such a bad experience and such a bad pint in there . This pub was warm friendly and they know how to pour beer . Fantastic

Great pub with live music Great staff but gents toilet were out of order I reported to a member of staff but he said they had been fixed Unfortunately toilet was still overflowing

Had a wonderful reception for a wedding here, staff first class. The manager Tristan was exceptional. He did everything we asked for and more. Great buffet. Well done Tavern

Super-Welcoming Eatery/Drinkery...I used to visit this place on a regular basis, back when I was living in this part of the country. Having been here a couple of times now when I've been in town, I have to say that the Tavern still scores full marks on so many fronts.The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Drinks are priced fairly, and the food is of good quality, and the atmosphere is unfailingly welcoming.The Tavern really does score full marks across the board.Pro-Tip: If you're planning a function, the Tavern has two rooms available for hire. Prices for this are more than reasonable, and the Tavern's staff will bend over backward to make sure that everything is just perfect, no matter what you have planned.

Went here when on holiday to Clacton, was a lovely little pub, bar staff were friendly and attentive, table service only because of covid situation, also Saturday night live music was on, toilets were clean
