Royal Oxford Hotel

BEWARE: Nothing was said on the website or during reservations, that this hotel was not appropriate for people with mobility issues. Be warned, there is no elevator and no ground floor rooms. The clerk at check in was surprised I would care and rude when I stated I may need to change to another hotel. They did accommodate by moving us a floor lower, but the stairs were a struggle for my travel companion. The rooms were small, but clean, and the bathrooms recently renovated. We were told to turn in our key every time we left the building and they locked the entrance at night. The location was not very convenient to the university but was very close to the train station. The restaurant attached was delicious! Also, It was convenient to have a market shop in the building as well.

Fantastic friendly staff who couldn'tbe more helpful. Rooms clean and tidy with netflix built into tv , good wifi , shower was great. Mattress was no premier inn quality and could of been better. No lift but staff offered to help with cases. Heating works perfect. Sainsbury underneath which is very handy 2 mins from train station and parking.. all in all more than happyand would stay again.

We stayed here for two nights. Great location as it’s very close to the station and the city centre. The room is clean and cozy. The only thing is that there isn’t any lifts it’s not friendly for the disabled.

This was an amazing place to stay because of the service, room, location and price! I am an unnaturally light sleeper , and was unable to sleep in my room facing the street due to music from a near by club. I requested to change rooms away from the street and they took care of it right away, no fuss or difficulty! The employees are very kind and accommodating. The rooms are simple and minimalist but still supplied with everything needed, and pristinely clean. The close by bus stops & rail station right across the street make it very convenient to get where you need to go! Would definitely stay again.

Good experience; this hotel is of a modest standard, something akin to a Holiday Inn, but perfectly adequate. Excellent service, friendly and smiling staff, and including carrying our luggage up to and down from our room (no lift). Other more expensive hotels would do well to imitate the Royal. Very pleased with our choice and would definitely go back

Very good service, traditional hotel room that felt dated in decor and amenities — not fancy, but quite clean and spacious. Parking is nearby at the station long-term lot for £10/night (location code 2709).

Excellent location, service and very comfortable accommodations. Extremely clean, with large showers, new furnishings and A/C. One drawback: No lift/elevator for the disabled.

Perhaps the friendliest check-in experience I've had! Lovely, helpful woman on the front desk. Room (for 3) was a good size and comfortable beds. Bathroom was a good size. We walked with suitcases to the coach station, about 7 minutes. Railway station about the same. A great hotel (in it's category). Breakfast option was also good with very good shakshouka.
