Stunning location. Lovely young girl at the bar who was new and had to ask for help for everything. Not her fault but staff training could be better. Strawberry afternoon tea lovely but think the sandwiches had been made for a while.

We visited the Cairns Bar and Restaurant this evening for our dinner and if it was not for the beautiful surroundings, the experience was disappointing. The waiter could not tell us about the dressings on the menu. The steaks ( served with greasy sauce) were very medioca at the price tag charged. And I must say I have never seen a more basic kids meal in my whole experience of dining out. My son opted for fish fingers sandwich and silly me thinking it would be home made fish goujon type with some greens on the side served. Wrong. He got served frozen birds-eye version of fish fingers stuck between two breads without any greens in sight. I honestly could give a better go myself at home. The meal took an hour to get served (!) and the lack of attention to our table to offer a second glass of wine or other drinks, we decided to call a night early. We never got served /offered the kids desserts part of the kids meal deal either so the birds eye sandwich turned out to be super expensive. The whole meal was not cheap and with the lack of decent service - I absolutely disagree to 10% service charge - it should be earned not forced on a customer. Disappointing Friday night out.

The estate itself is beautiful. My room however, in the main building is very dated. We booked the Superior Double room and was assigned to room 18. It's located right next to a stairwell with a door without overhead closer, and a pub that leaves its door open. The room itself unfortunately has no noise insulation whatsoever, we could hear pub noises, stairwell door, and our upstairs neighbour pushing the bed against the wall for approx an hour between 1am-2am.The beddings were also extremely itchy. No bed bugs visible, perhaps dust mites/ skin irritating laundry products. Had to wrap myself in jackets and socks to fall asleep.Amenities: only shower products available, no toothbrush/ hairbrush at reception as opposed to chain hotels.Given that I have paid £170 for this room in the middle of nowhere, it's not worth the price at all. I'd be better off camping somewhere nearby. The food and staff at Eolas was great, hence the 2 stars.

This exquisite dwelling nestled in the Scottish countryside offers a high-quality bar that provides a cozy and comfortable ambiance for enjoying a cocktail. The British-style leather armchairs by the fireplace create a warm and inviting setting. While the restaurant aims for high standards, it slightly fell short of its promises, as did the breakfast, which was decent but left us expecting more. Despite these minor points, the residence is incredible and provided a comforting abode for our two-night stay, especially before the onset of Storm Babet. Highly recommend for a serene countryside escape.

Very enjoyable stay. Perhaps a little understaffed on the bar, however the staff were wonderful.Rooms were fantastic.Food excellent, especially the currys available on the bar menu. Breakfast was very good and exceptional value for money.Location is great. Close to Perth, an hour to Edinburgh and 50 mins to the House of Bruar.A few more whiskies would be welcome, but that's a personal preference. The one negative is the insane markup on the limited wine selection in the restaurant. It's the one aspect of the stay that doesn't fit with the rest of the experience.

Disappointed at staying here for 3 nights last month. Booked an upgraded room which wasn't in the hotel, more like a block of flats 100yrd away, although the room was nice. Just not so good in the rain and cold weather. When we arrived the reception lady just gave us the keys and pointed outside. No mention of where the bar was or where to go for breakfast.Went to the bar and noticed the seat was covered in crumbs even though the place was dead and bar maid sitting doing nothing. Ordered a bottle of wine at £48 and she just left the bottle on the table no ice bucket. Ordered food from the 2 star AA restaurant and it was very poor. Overcooked or burnt. This place puts itself on par with other 4 and 5 star hotels but in reality it's a 3 star hotel at best.

As a wedding photographer this is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. I recently had a wedding here and it was a perfect day from start to finish. Alison and her team were amazing and had everything running smoothly and on time. The rooms were all set up beautifully and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. If you are looking for somewhere to get beautiful wedding photos taken then you should seriously consider Murrayshall. The building and surrounding grounds are stunning and if you're lucky enough to get a nice sunset then you're guaranteed to get some incredible shots.

Had the misfortune of staying in the Murrayshall for a wedding about a year and a half ago. A so-called superior room" had issues with noise travelling up from the bar area

I read a few negative reviews recently regarding the staff and I have to say, we didn't experience any of the issues other reviewers did. The young woman who served out afternoon tea was absolutely delightful and had a lovely manner. She was informative and attentive. The afternoon tea itself was a delight and I wouldn't hesitate to have this again. Our room was lovely and clean, quite homely.Dinner in the evening was great, I couldn't fault it and I could tell a couple of the young team were fairly new and they did an outstanding job. Very polite and courteous. Our meal was very good and breakfast in the morning was also as expected. Plenty of choice, relaxed atmosphere and lovely scenic views.Highly recommend Murrayshall for a night or two away with a chilled vibe.
