We’ve visited the restaurant a few times before. This weekend was our first visit after 4 years and this place really went downhill. A lot of other people comments say the same.Lobster Thermidor was disgusting, just a sloppy mess, fish soup nothing special at all. The only nice dish was halibut. Menu was really small, they used to have a lot more different fish dishes.We brought some friends as we recommended this place to them a few times. Drove an hour for a horrible food. What a shame, we used to love this place.

Booked a meal for our anniversar. After being shown to our table we waited quite a long time for someone to come and take our order. Having said that, the food was absolutely delicious and well presented. Although quite pricey, you do pay for what you get, and I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion.

I gather it has changed hands. We thought it seemed a bit different when we walked in. However the food was excellent and despite being served the wrong drinks, which also caused confusion with the bill, the service was excellent. I have subsequently noticed some poor reviews, so I hope they take note of these, as it's always been such a special place and I hope it thrives as we have always loved coming here over the years. They ought to get the taps sorted out in the men's loo as my husband had soap all over his hands which he couldn't get off.

Stayed in November on a deal. Our first visit for a while. First time in a suite and the room was massive! A few things in the room were looking a bit tired but to be expected and doesn't really detract from the experience. We had a power cut for nearly 3 hours due to a storm so couldn't use the facilities or hot tub until the power came back on. The hotel gave us a voucher when we left for the inconvenience which was a higher value than we expected so can't fault them for that. They seem to have improved a few things such as breakfast options and room details since our last visit which is good to see. Although we noticed a few things removed from the menu probably to cut costs. We are looking to go back soon.

What an amazing place, best member of staff was Kevin on the hotel bar, what a true delight he is, he made the evening for me! Rooms are great, but our under floor heating was on constantly. Food is great and a good portion.

I came here about 12 years ago and the food was amazing. Today was just a completely different experience.They forgot to bring my partner's starter. The chef wasn't happy with the fish cut so we had to change our main (really?? Did you have only one cut?). We were given a free coffee because we had to wait so long for the main course and they forgot to bring my green tea when we ordered our pudding. At that point I said that they shouldn't bother as I am not prepared to wait any longer - by this point we were there almost three hours.The food was good but not exceptional. Definitely not worth the trip and the money. How disappointing!

Three of the party of five arrived early and were warmed up by a gregarious and attentive blonde waitress. The bread arrived quickly and was fresh and varied, seafood options were be varied but so was the rest of the menu.Some local beers and they fixed the flickering light for us so an easy traditional 5 star experience.

Really unique place. Some rooms are better than others but you will definitely find one you like in the style that suits you. We liked the little cabin we stayed in on the second night although missed having a shower.Food was good although a little hit and miss across the two days we stayed. Breakfast, however, was fab!

I came here for the first time tonight with my family. We sat upstairs, which I thought was lovely.The staff were very Efficient, friendly and welcoming.The food was outstanding!!Never seen my son eat so much ha.After receiving the bill, our waitress informed us that because of being cramped upstairs because of a wedding going on downstairs, they wiped all of our drinks off the bill!What outstanding service, it is definitely the little things that go a long way! I will always remember this generosity, that wasn’t needed but very much appreciated.Definitely will be back soon!
