My first visit, a family night out celebrating Mum's visit. Very easy to book a table, which was a must even though we went mid-week it was really busy. We used the pay car park directly opposite for ease. You can park for free for 2 hours in nearby disc zone streets, with a Cumbria parking disc available free from many local outlets.Unfortunately we were not advised of the hours wait for food when we ordered, but the food was worth it. The staff were helpful and attentive, we had pitchers of water for the table during our wait. There are stairs to the toilet facilities and to the front of the restaurant itself, so if you require accessible facilities this will be difficult.This is most definitely the most authentic Italian restaurant I've been to with the food and atmosphere reminding me of Rome.Mum isn't a fan of huge plates of food these days and was able to order a smaller meal from the children's section. We managed starters and mains, resorting to fabulous limoncello shots as afters.I'm really looking forward to going back here and will be making sure I have room for a sweet too!!

Just popped in when passing through Carlisle and this was a lucky find. The service was super friendly and quick and the sea bass with saffron risotto was outstanding and nice and light. Highly recommend

We were running late to find a spot for quick dinner in Carlisle and managed to locate a parking spot and Gianni's pretty much at the same time.Staff checked with the chef to see if they could servr 2 more diners before closing. All okay and we were seated. We ordered sharpish as we were aware of the time. Food was fresh and served quickly.We had a lovely chat with the owner's daughter and the staff were also very engaging. Apparently Gianni's has been running for 3 decades and the photos around the restaurant documents its history and all the fun revellers have had down the years at Gianni's.

Incredible meal! Fresh and delicious food. They always have new and fantastic specials. Amazing staff, always so friendly. Very authentic Italian restaurant experience, feels like a holiday away from the usual every time.

Food was amazing. Perfectly cooked. The steak with gorgonzola sauce was the best I've had. The atmosphere was electric. The staff were very welcoming and looked after you. Fully recommended and definitely go again

Meal was delicious and the staff very welcoming. Highly recommend! Tip: book early as I witnessed at least 4 groups being turned away.

I visit Carlisle weekly with work and thought that I would give Gianni's a try and I'm so glad that I did, all of the staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere with some of the staff singing along with the Italian music, it was just great. The service was faultless as was the food which arrived promptly and was simply delicious with great flavour.I can't recommend Gianni's highly enough and this restaurant could become a regular stop for me when in town, thank you.

Wow. Just wow.This place is a hidden gem in Carlisle.A teeny little Italian restaurant with proper decent traditional meals on offer.We went here post graduation ceremony and so glad we did as it was one of the best meals I have had for a while.Perfect seat at a comfy table and LOVED the decor. You could almost believe you are in a little village in Italy.Very prompt and FAST service.Firstly I had warm goats cheese on bread with ragu as in the photo. Wow. Incredible flavours and had be completely dribbling for the next course.Next was chicken valdostana(might have spelt that wrong) chicken breast, breaded, deep fried, topped with mozzarella, served with spaghetti bolognaise. Absolutely incredible. Was full to bursting when we left and was good value.Totally recommend this place. I will be visiting again.
