Alix did a really good job on our hallway, stairwell and landings. She was efficient, priced well and was generally lovely to have around the house while she worked. We would absolutely have her back again and can recommend her to anyone looking for a painter and decorator.

Very pleased with Ailx’s work, she has carried out work to the exterior and interior of my property to a good standard. All at a fair price.

I've just had a flat redecorated and wish I hadn't ever heard of TheLadyDecorator. Expensive, terribly unreliable and downright difficult. Goes ahead, using the most expensive German paint, without any warning, and then doesn't finish on time and slaps on another £100 without a by-your-leave for the privilege of keeping me waiting! Would never use her again and rue the day! She promised to leave the left-over paint (which I had paid excessively for) but didn't. Worse still, she ripped a bathroom cabinet off the wall (presumably to paint behind it, which it didn't need) then she shoved the cupboard back, hoping I wouldn't notice the wrecked wall she left behind her, with huge holes ripped in it. Don't use this awful woman, whatever you do.MY RESPONSE: This woman is a nut case I'm afraid. HAHA! She asked me to redecorate her 2 bed flat in 2 days, I told her it would be tight. DECORATOR TOLD ME SHE C O U L D DO THE JOB IN TWO DAYS, SINCE IT WAS A RENTAL PROPERTY AND OTHER PEOPLE WERE GOING TO MOVE IN ONCE THE FLAT HAD BEEN CLEANED AFTER THE REDECORATION, AND I WENT TO PAINS TO EXPLAIN THAT TWO DAYS WAS ALL THAT WAS AVAILABLE. THE FLAT WAS TOTALLY EMPTY, SO A DECORATOR'S DREAM SCENARIO! Unfortunately it ran over till the next day. So 2 1/2 days to completely redecorate the flat. I did not over charge her. IT ENDED UP COSTING ME £117 MORE THAN THE AGREED AMOUNT, (£782 IN ALL) WHICH INCLUDED HAVING TO BUY 300 MLS MORE OF THE RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE PAINT (WHICH SHE USED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION) TO REPAIR DAMAGE UNDER THE BASIN WHICH SHE HAD NOT DONE WELL ENOUGH. SHE HAD PROMISED TO PROVIDE THE PAINT FOR THIS, BUT AFTER WAITING TWO WEEKS SHE STILL HADN'T DONE AS SHE HAD PROMISED TO DO. SO. I COULD NOT WAIT LONGER WITH NEW TENANTS WANTING THE BATHROOM FINISHED OFF The paint was a high quality paint which would withstand her tenants (SHOULD HAVE GOT MY PERMISSION - I SIMPLY ASKED FOR GLOSS, THAT'S ALL, BUT SHE PROVIDED SOMETHING WHICH COST £17 FOR 300 MLS)!!!!! I left what was left off the emulsion and only charged her for the paint I used. NO WOOD PAINT WAS LEFT, AS HAD BEEN PROMISED. If she thinks the amount of around £750 (£782 IN THE END) to repaint the whole flat plus materials is excessive then shes living in cloud cuckoo land. ANOTHER IDENTICAL FLAT WAS TOTALLY REPAINTED FOR MUCH MUCH LESS. I did not pull her cupboard off the wall, that Is a complete lie. THE TENANTS SAY SHE DID - I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHO IS LYING BUT I HAVE A VERY BADLY DAMAGED WALL WITH GAPING HOLES IN IT NOW. I have been decorating for many years and as yet have never come across a client like her. I EXPECT PEOPLE TO BE STRAIGHT WITH ME AND WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL DO SOMETHING, THEY WILL DO IT, RATHER THAN KEEP ME WAITING TWO WEEKS AND THEN NOT DOING IT AT ALL. I WARNED THIS WOMAN, AFTER TWO WEEKS OF WAITING, THAT I WOULD LEAVE A REVIEW IF SHE DIDN'T PROVIDE WHAT HAD BEEN PROMISED, AND THIS IS THE UPSHOT. She even moaned about using the electric. I ASKED HER TO ONLY USE LIGHTS IN ROOMS SHE WAS WORKING IN - MY HUSBAND TURNED UP UNEXPECTEDLY AND FOUND EVERY LIGHT IN THE FLAT IN USE DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. So I was to paint in the dark.I hope I never come across such a cantankerous woman again. THE FEELING IS MUTUAL. Alarm bells should have rang when her husband told me she had fallen out with her last decorators. HE SAID NO SUCH THING - WHICH HE HAS JUST CONFIRMED - BUT DID MENTION THAT HE HAD NOT WANTED TO USE THE SAME DECORATOR AGAIN SINCE THAT ONE HAD FAILED TO FINISH PLACES, LIKE ONLY PAINTING HALF A WARDROBE SHELF, AND MISSING SEVERAL OTHER PLACES TOO. WHY GO BACK TO SUCH A DECORATOR? NOW I WOULD NEVER WISH TO HAVE ANYTHING MORE TO DO WITH THIS ONE EITHER. SHE IS NOW THREATENING TO BLACKLIST ME WITH EVERYONE!! WHAT SHE DOESN'T KNOW IS THAT I TREAT PEOPLE WELL WHEN THEY TREAT ME WELL. I HAVE MANY TRADESMEN WHO WORK IN ALL MY FLATS. I RECOMMEND THEM TIME AND AGAIN TO OTHERS, GIVING THEM MORE AND MORE WORK. THEY DO WELL FROM ME AND WE HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP.

Alix has recently decorated a number of rooms in our property. Her quotation was extremely competitive. She started work on the agreed day. Her work was superb: preparation was thorough and ceilings, skirtings and walls were carefully painted with the requisite number of coats. On completion, the property was cleaned throughout and left in good order. Alix is very meticulous and works to a high standard. Highly recommended.
