This hotel is home from home and more. The extra luxury touches adds to the experience. Staff are so friendly and cant do enough to help make your stay memorable. The hotel is quiet and relaxed.if you want evening entertainment then this Hotel isnt for you. The views of the sea are something to see.

It is a so called 5star hotel tried to book Sunday lunch and was told l could not book as l had not a collar and tie, l'm on holiday for christ sake who brings a collar and tie on holiday. I have bought with me a smart jacket smart shirts the only thing not a tie. This is not in the Ritz standard who would have gladly offered a tie to wear my opinion they seem to be a bit up themselves.

Stunning hotel, service beyond the expectation you'd have in London plus much much more. Very caring and attentive team. Would recommend to anyone celebrating a special on occasion! Enormous thank you to all the team at The Nare for making my stay so special. Ask for a double room if you appreciate your personal space.

Only visited, as on previous occasions, for Sunday lunch so can't comment on Rooms. However, I suspect they will be as fantastic as lunch and service.

Very disappointed, this hotel was recommended by a friend who had stayed there a few years ago. The room smelt of a care home and definitely passed its sell -by date. The infestation of some type of insect in the room did not help the situation. There are better hotels in Cornwall that give good value for money. This Hotel is clearly living off its past reputation.Don't get me wrong I am prepared and do pay a lot more than £968 per night for a room, but find it difficult to be ripped off.

Old, tired, expensive. Seriously overpriced.Merely dog tolerant, definitely not dog friendly; so, great in good weather, not so in British weather.I booked 3 nights online based on the web offering; on arrival I was told my dog could only be in the garden, my car or my room.On the upside, the car park was expansive - but no shade. The Nare is of a bygone age. It’s run for the wealthy by the wealthy and with little understanding of the needs and wants of the twenty first century staycationer. So if you have more money than God and little interest in well maintained rooms (frayed carpets, dated and tired decor - but in fairness very clean) and prefer having a night cap in the bar with your “best-friend” at your feet, DO NOT BOOK.In summary, “great” views (really just average views considering similar views can be found almost everywhere on the coast of Cornwall) simply aren’t enough for modern clientele; Gidleigh Park and Bovey Castle are good examples of similar standing properties that have awoken to these needs and successfully met them.Would I return? Not with my dog, probably not without my dog either. Go to “Idle Rocks” or “Tresanton” in St Mawes instead. For the money - over £500 a night - you can get sooo much better and within just a few miles.SLH (Small Leading Hotels) have clearly not done a visit with their eyes open (or perhaps were wined and dined?).They and their endorsements have gone down in value in my opinion.AVOID

We travelled over an hour on a wintry night to dine here. We were not disappointed. Our first time here, and with high expectations we selected from the extensive menu, in the comfort of a warm cosy lounge. The staff were wonderfully attentive without being intrusive, and we received great service all evening. The food……..what can I say. It was like stepping back in time, with traditional and special offerings, and the luxury of an hors-d’oeuvres trolley (who doesn’t love that). The “theatre” of flambé at the table..wonderful. The fact that there’s actually a dessert trolley! The food is delicious, the presentation, perfect, and the venue, very very welcoming. I rather think we’ll be back.
