My wife has been a Client at this Optometrist for quite a few years.I joined the practice in the past three to four years.We wold both like to commend the excellent quality of care from the Optometrists since the days of Mr Petrie, now retired, to Davina who has taken over our eye care. Thank you Mr Petrie and then Davina for the thoroughness of our eye assessments. Thank you for investing in the highest level of Diagnostic and Ophthalmic equipment.We would also like to commend the service and care provided By Ruth, our Dispensing Optician who has taken the time to get to know us, establishing our tastes and preferences, demonstrating such knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, giving us information about our lenses, frame options, and so on, in order for us to make informed choices.Also thanks to Joanna in charge of Administration and Colour Matching Consultations which is so instrumental when one wears spectacles permanently in co ordination with varying outfits. My wife had a very successful consultation with Joanna who made her feel so comfortable, and relaxed, establishing successful and less successful spectrums of colour. Very enlightening.Joannas excellent front of house interpersonal and communication skills are commendable, also with the newer Reception staff, maintaining the high standards always experienced at the practice.We are very impressed with the personalised care at this practice..The Ongoing RP4 Scheme, whereby costs of assessments, lenses and frames are partially or fully paid for via monthly payments has been invaluable, well worth it by spreading costs.We feel so blessed to have such an excellent service and have complete confidence in the whole Care and Assessment Process which is constantly being updated.We were recently made aware that the Practice recently left the NHS with all the related limitations, (becoming a Private Practice). We have no issue with this, as the Practice will now be able to offer enhanced care , treatments, services and care.We also took advantage of having a free initial hearing check which is a new service offered at the Practice.We are also greatly impressed by the Safety, Sanitation, Screening and Distancing Measures put in place at the Practice due to the pandemic.We cannot commend the excellence of this Optometrist Practice enough.THANK YOU.Mr and Mrs Allen.

The eye examination was very thorough and any changes and how they affected me were explained in detail at each stage by Davina. I did not require new glasses on this occasion but Matthew kindly checked and adjusted my existing glasses and suggested I had the basic hearing test whilst I was there which I did. The staff were all very friendly and the waiting area clean and comfortable"."

Great service from the moment I arrived. Richard Petrie has modern machines that tests behind your eyes, which gives me comfort that everything is being checked. At the end I picked out a perfect pair of specs which i can't wait to wear. Great independent place where you feel like the team are going that extra mile.

Excellent service and such an in-depth eye examination, none like I’ve ever had before, state of the art equipment and very knowledgeable and professional optometrist, which made me feel I was I very good and safe hands due to information given to me. All staff very helpful, knowledgable, kind and friendly. Highly recommend. Also booked a hearing test.

Richard Petrie Opticians have been taking care of my eye exams for almost 20 years. A great team delivering first class care, day in, day out.

The family have been using Richard Petrie Optometrist for many years and seen many changes in technology. The examination is very thorough and the staff are extremely knowledgable and convey the results in an understandable way. Fiona, who we usually see, and Esme once again met expectations and in a very personable way.

I broke my glasses on Monday and needed my new pair for Saturday morning. Davina rang on Wednesday to say they were ready for collection! Amazing, thank you so much!

What an amazing find….My journey started with these guys in March 2022, when I wanted to find somewhere that offered just that little bit more of a personalised service, and I couldn’t have been more delighted.My first visit was actually an enjoyable experience - for a specialist opinion on my eye sight that had taken a turn for the worse after an accident!! Their professionalism alongside their friendliness was fabulous, and put me totally at ease, considering that I was so concerned about the change in my sight.The staff were lovely and attentive, and the optometrist did a fabulous comparison, of their current eye test to a routine test at a mainstream opticians 6 months earlier, to ascertain the big change in such a short time.This in turn, led to the lovely Joanne, not only offering optometry understanding, but also her stylist skills in taking the time to appreciate exactly what sort of frames and look that I was looking for. Her patience in helping me find some beautiful frames that I totally love, was over and above what I would have expected from any opticians.And then along came Matthew, who spent the time researching and utilising his knowledge in sports glasses, to get me set up with special lenses for my sport, (clay pigeon shooting), which had taken a turn for the worse with my changed vision of sight, and I thought I’d have to give up! But, hey, my shooting mojo is back…Thanks a million guys !!! You’re all fabulous !!! x

Very impressed by all the care taken to the best solution for my eyesight taking into account my most important uses for spectacles. The technology to give advance warning of any future medical or eyesight problems was reassuringly very advanced.
