Had Christmas meal there on Saturday night and I must say it was absolutely delicious, from the starter to the pudding, all amazing, it was the best Christmas dinner I've had for years, bottle of wine included all for £30 a head, well done to the person who made the cheesecake, it was delicious. I certainly want to go back and eat it all over again. 10/10

Lovely meal, great onsite pub. Covered outdoor areas. Family room with pool table & darts. Outdoor small play area next to pub. Beautiful river walk onsite too and another top play area with 2 sections for infants & younger children. Great shop next to pub too. Dog friendly in outdoor areas only x

Stayed on the site for 4 nights, was looking forward to visiting the squirrel as we always do.First time we went, we stood in the queue only to be told that there was no food left at 6-30. Very poor planning on someone part as the site was fully booked. Went the next night only to find the kitchens were closed altogether. We did not give up and went back the following night a bit earlier in case they ran short again but we managed to order. after waiting over an hour and a half we got some food, 3 of us ordered the fish and chips and this i have to say was the saltiest piece of fish i have ever tasted. All 3 were very very salty, if at this point we hadnt already heard that the kitchens had ran out of food again we would have taken it back but were so hungry we ate what we could stomach with loads of tartare sauce. My worst experience of this pub of all the times i have been. I am giving 1 star as i cant leave none.

Friendly staff, good selection of food and drink, handy sport tv and pool, plenty of theme and disco nights. Sunday lunch is superb.

Has gone really downhill. Inconsistent food times, displayed incorrectly on park site, inconsistent food quality. Takeaway service also seems nonexistent these days. Multiple times told one hour and half wait for service or food has run out. Obnoxious loud entertainment to boot.Unreliable to the point id honestly suggest people just take the time to walk to the beehive in eumont bridge.

Been visiting The Squirrel for over 10 years, this time we were extremely disappointed with the service and quality of the food.We visited on bank holiday Monday, plenty of free benches outside so nowhere near as busy as it was on the Sunday. I totally appreciate that things take a little longer due to the current situation but waiting 40 mins for 3 drinks then after drinks arrived we ordered food having to wait a further 1hr 15m that to arrive.Pizza was undercooked, just melted cheese on soggy dough.Burger was burnt on one side (also wasn't the one we ordered)My son ordered a strawberry milkshake with his meal which we had to ask to be brought out 2 times....by the time it arrived we had given up took the milkshake and left....the milkshake was also very warm so had to refrigerate when we got home. The 2 waiters that they had on to service the outdoor area (and possibly the inside) were incompetent, possibly over stretched but this wasn't the customers fault.Really gutted about our visit, total waste of money!I hope they get back to the standards we remember very soon!

Arrived over the Platinum Jubilee holiday . No food available on the 1st night. Took a sandwich in as we had travelled for 3 hrs . Man behind the bar came out and s told us we couldn't do that so we apologised and ordered another drink and 9 bags of crisps . All seemed fine until a woman came out from.behind the bar with what appeared to be her daughter and started ranting and raving. When we explained that we had apologised she seemed to get worse . 9 of us from an 8 month old baby to an 80 year old lady. 4 Generations . So not a rowdy crowd. She then proceeded to tell us to leave and shouted after us that we prob wouldn't spend much money over the weeknd as we were Scots" . She then continued shouting that we were also banned from the Minimart. . The next day we had a good few fellow campers telling us their stories of bad service and ignorance by these people.Beggars belief after what we have all been through that a family away celebrating their 80 year old mother birthday with a wee family holiday could be treated in this manner . A shame really . Again we were wrong with the sandwiches but apologised and indeed received another drink and we had

Excellent campsite pub. Great staff and owners. Prices aren't bumped up due to being the only pub, excellent food and great pizzas, salt and pepper chips are delicious. Outside DJ for fun and games during the summer. Lots of kiddies discos and karaoke during the season. Outside seating in the sunshine all day, kids room with pool table. Bar snacks and nuts available. Good pub, good beers, good times.

Used to rave about how good the Squirrel was. The 2 new what appear to be Managing couple really have no organisational skills and literally have no problem leaving people sat around waiting for meals, without an ounce of empathy or interaction to show that they are progressing with their meals or even care about it. When I heard my number being given out to another diner I checked to make sure we were still on the orders list and was met with you are progressing" when I reminded him that we had been waiting for over an hour in what was no where near a busy period. I was told "what do you want me to do?" When i asked for some empathy i had an instant "Well thank you for that character assassination"
