Lily Pad Pet Shop and Grooming

To put it politely, I think Edward Scissor hands with a blind fold on would’ve done a better job. I took my shih tzu into Lily Pad to have a trim/tidy up/wash/blow dry. After a 10-15 minute discussion with Nicole of what I didn’t want and how I’d like the dog (coco) to look, I informed the groomer I would like at least half an inch to an inch of hair length left on the dogs body (we agreed for her legs to be cut shorter and any mats behind the ears/under the legs to be cut). 30 minutes later after receiving a call from the groomer I returned to assist Nicole as Coco was getting quite stressed (admittedly the dog isn’t the best in a groomers and is a bit of a diva) I returned to find the dog had been completed shaved. Basically a grade 1 shaving all over (apart from her face). Quite frankly she looked hideous. After leaving Nicole to wash/blow dry Coco I returned and to be honest was absolutely fuming. Exactly what I had asked Nicole not to do she had done. Now I understand dogs get matted and especially shih tzu’s with their long hair. But like with anything, if the groomer couldn’t do what I had asked then I at least expect a phone call & to have been given the option for the dog to have been shaved or not. If I had received a phone call to say the dog needs to be completely shaven then I would’ve said no. The whole handling of the situation wasn’t ideal and to be honest the fact I had to pay for a groom which my 1 year old nephew could've done better was even more infuriating. The fact is my dog is now in discomfort, clearly distressed by the whole experience and now cant leave the house as looks bloody ridiculous. Sorry I am all for supporting small businesses but never again will I be using this dog groomer. If you would like your dog to have a wash and fancy blow dry then great use her but if you want a trim or a smart cut my advice is to go to a different groomers as unfortunately this groomer didn’t listen and done whatever she pleased. To put it bluntly… I am one furious customer. (Before and after photos just to brighten everyone's day)

Fantastic service! After been told there was no appointments available on the day and to get a call out of the blue to say there as been a cancellation, to see if I was still looking for a service was absolutely great after trying all morning at many different dog grooms with no luck. Nicole did exactly as I ask down to a tee and me and bear are both happy with the outcome. Bear looks forward to seeing her again!

This was our first time with Lily Pad. Enzo our 15 year old Collie, he is virtually deaf and blind so I wondered how he would cope. I needn't have worried Enzo was posturing like a 2 year old and was in no way ready to leave just yet thank you!! They are the folks we want looking after our dogs. He looks better than he has ever done and came home proudly showing off his bandana. Now he is laying next to me having a snooze and probably reliving his adventure. Lily Pad is now our family dog groomer for sure. Thank you so much.

What a shame that our Vinny can't leave his own review! It would be 5 PAWS all the way! He absolutely loves Nicole, has graduated from the Grooming academy, and has to go every 6 weeks, or he'd become a terror (and filthy) Much more than just a groom! Nicoles knowledge has been a tremendous help in the first few months of puppy ownership as well! When your pup has to swim and get as dirty as possible, you have to use the best 100%

Nicole always does a fantastic job on Tilly. Tilly is a very shy dog who is normally afraid of most people, things and noises! Aunty Nicole’s name is one of the only names she hears that makes her tail wag every time when we mention going to the groomer. She comes out looking fresh, clean and she smells great.

Dumpy always enjoys his visits to his special friend Nicole who he's being seeing since he was a puppy. Her attention to detail is second to none and what's really nice is her way with the dogs.

My dog loved it and came out looking so proud I cant wait for him to go again

We called up in a panic because we are on holiday and our Cockapoo Dave had gotten himself covered in grass seeds (Devil Beggar Ticks). We were squeezed in the next day and the salon did a fantastic job of brushing him out. He was upset before and back to his normal self afterwards. Top top notch service and I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism and care of this fabulous team x
