Lidl

Haven't been for a while as it was getting pretty sparse on the shelves but i was pleasantly surprised today there were more items to choose from. There were a few gaps but not as bad as it use to be .The app is pretty good if you use the shop regularly you can make great savings.

Great wine offer on Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz, this week but our (large) store was only allocated five cases which went presumably minutes after the opening time yesterday.Not very satisfactory, and happens too regularly.

Great range of products at very competitive prices, most foods are really good quality, the bargains to be had in the centre ailes ( the middle of Lidl) just be quick as stock is limited and once they sell out of the products there they don't restock, the regular food stuffs and non food items are as good as some branded things . As with all supermarkets stock levels fluctuate due to Brexit some items seem to be out of stock , for a while and then restock with plenty of items

I don't know if you have to activate the option on your end as Lidl staff for the Lidl app to work but I did activate my coupons before leaving for Lidl, I scanned my app at the till (it did make a sound) and somehow it didn't work. Sometimes it takes a day or more for you to see your virtual receipt because of a system lag or something. My purchase is still not appearing on my app. I drove all the way from South Anston for the free Crownfield item which I had to return, there is a 30% discount on bakery items after 7pm but they simply emptied the bakery area as I was trying to get something. The only item I managed to get was some bread which I had to return (the app didn't work). The staff didn't even understand what the item I was trying to return was on the receipt (I had to explain it to them). They start cleaning two hours before closing, one time the floor washer was left blocking the entrance so I couldn't get in with my shopping cart and there's no one at the tills usually, there are no self-service tills so if there's no one nearby you're in for a wait. People walking in are confused thinking it's closing at 8pm when it's supposed to be open until 10pm. I don't know if this is a shortage of staff issue, a temporary one or just bad organization but it's not the first time it happened. I've been to other Lidls before and none were this bad. I was a regular Lidl customer for 8 years...until now. I spent more on fuel to get to this Lidl than the free item was worth.

Only thing I dislike about this particular store is that the checkouts are tiny compared with other stores that have longer checkouts and a divider, so you can continue packing even after you've paid and the next customer can carry on. If you're going to force people to use ridiculous large baskets on wheels, then you need to provide more space to pack the shopping, or once again provide actual hand baskets. Here, you're backed up with shopping before you're finished packing and there is no more room.

Nice modern Lidl with lots of space and free parking. Cheap prices. try and avoid Saturdays if you can as there were moderate queues.

As you walk in store the amazing smell of fresh baked products.A great selection of vegetables and fruit.A very good selection of meats and chicken.A good size car park with electric charge points and disability parking.Everything you expect and so much more in the middle aisle.

Staff are good to get on with helpfully and kind I got to know nearly all of them
