British Heart Foundation Furniture & Electrical

Very pleasant experience on Saturday whilst shopping for brand new drawers for my 7 year olds bedroom after we had a few unexpected breakages at home, and also to purchase some large storage chests. Amber was very helpful and friendly & had my order sorted ready for delivery today (Monday 18th March). I got home from work to find that my items hadn't been delivered and managed to catch the shop 5 minutes before they closed. Annie took my call & tried to locate the delivery driver who had indeed already gone home for the day, after explaining the situation and the fact that the driver hadn't even attempted to deliver to my house, she pulled out all the stops and got another driver in (from home!) to bring me my items as promised & as I had paid for. I cannot thank them enough, the delivery driver who came in out of hours to deliver, the ladies & lads who stayed late to help & despite staying late, their friendly attitudes and kindness were second to none!Now that is above and beyond the call of duty and I cannot recommend you guys enough, my 7 year old was over the moon when his new drawers came and we could get his bedroom back to normal after 2 sleepless nights! 5* service.

I wish I had read these reviews before calling up the Heart Foundation to donate 5 pieces of furniture to them. I see this driver has various complaints against him already.He barged into our home & past me without even looking at me. His first words upon seeing our couch were “we won’t take that” (nothing wrong with it except fading at the back due to being against a window - obviously we aren’t donating our best couch!) & it’s good enough for us - our new lounge is just so tiny we can’t fit both couches in!Next he turned his attention to our one off/quirky bookshelf that we bought from a furniture restorer - that is still in good condition and made of solid wood - and said “Did you make this yourself?!” To which we replied NO & he replied “It’s just 3 drawers cobbled together”Well that cobbler was pretty good at his job because the piece looks awesome & has lovely feet & extra shelves attached as well as a back brace & decorative top so “cobbled together” was extremely rude terminology.At this point I thanked him for coming but told him not to worry, we’d rather donate to Mencap, who also collect furniture. I told him I didn’t know how the British Heart Foundation got any furniture donations with him arriving with his attitude, to which he barged past me & slammed our front door!Actually feel violated & traumatised now. What a pig! I know it’s an unreasonable thought but at this point I feel like I will not be able to set foot in a British Heart Foundation store ever again.Clearly this driver is doing this as a job not a vocation & gets off on acting like the Sheriff. Utterly shocked by what just happened. I highly recommend you do not donate any furniture to the Derby branch unless you have their assurance that the tattooed blond man is not coming!He may be strong & a great driver but he’s just not someone who can deal with the public & be the face of BHF as he’s actually doing them a disservice & scaring people away. I’m actually so distressed now I can’t get to work.I phoned the store to complain & spoke to the lovely manager Lucas who was as shocked as I was to hear my tale. Unfortunately that’s done nothing to erase my awful experience. I do hope that this review will invite some action to save others from this type of ordeal.

Just rented my first house and had a lot of help buying furniture from Elaine! It was my first time buying anything from here as well and she was very helpful and informative about the whole process.

The shop staff were polite, and appeared knowledgeable, however omitted vital information about the delivery process, therefore the next day delivery failed miserably, which left my daughter and myself without anything to sit on until Sunday morning.For me that wasn't too much of an issue, my daughter is a very unwell young woman, so caused significant issues.Then on Sunday morning the call from the delivery driver came, and on arrival he was extremely rude,grumpy and generally impolite. Just what you need after the previous days problems!!

Very efficient. Kept me informed by telephone re collection times and arrived at time arranged. Drivers checked out the goods for quality and saleability and were friendly and courteous. Would recommend Them.

Fantastic experience. Spoke to Elaine and explained I was travelling from Walsall area gave me a direct line in case I got lost, upon arrival spoken in a friendly and professional manner and was assisted in placing item to vehicle. A job well done. 5 stars to all that assisted on Sunday 09th January 2022.

I don't do qwik fire reviews, I take a while and several visits before I even consider writing a google review. 2 years ago this BHF F&E would have been a 1 star, at best a 2 star. However over te last 12 months the store has looked cleaner and tidier, still a lot of room to improve, but definitely going in the upward direction, hence 3/5 (not reviewed after COVID EPISODE)

We came looking for a dining set, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. We then found one of the exact same dining set in a shop just down the road completely new and unused at the same exact price...(at full price may I say, therefore not even discounted!) Extremely disappointed, especially because I would've been very happy for the money to go to a charity rather than buy a new dining set for far less than their prices. Very overpriced for a used furniture shop :( Really could do with getting someone a bit more knowledgeable to price their used furniture at fair prices.

We have bought new and used items in very good condition here. Your staff are courteous / friendly. BHF has become my walkthrough whenever I'm in town as I check on usable items.
