Houdini’s Escape Room Experience - York

Had a lovely time escaping from Alcatraz. AJ, the games host, gave the right number of hints to help us out when we needed, without making things too easy. Overall, a really fun experience solving all the puzzles.

Awesome experience. We played the HMS Titanic game. Room and props were really fun and we thought the quirks of the space used were really great. Luke our Game Master was very patient with us and very helpful. Thanks for making sure we had a great time Luke!

We had never done an escape room before but for some reason decided to go for the hardest option! That’s right we were rubbish but had such great fun and were amazed at how ingenious (and sneaky) the clues were. Maddy was great as our “jailer” and helped us with cryptic clues throughout. Would definitely do it again in fact would love to go back and do it again (cos now I know the answers!). Great afternoon challenge.

We took our 12 and 8 year old grandchildren for the Titanic scenario. It was well thought out and very enjoyable. We only got around 60% completed, and that was with numerous clues but we enjoyed our time there. The lady who was games host was fine but quite robotic, especially when revealing the answers at the end which she did very fast so it was difficult to understand the parts we missed. I think she may have found the job a tad tedious. We would visit again but ask for a photo to be taken on our phone as their standard photo seems quite poor quality (unless that is just me not downloading it correctly?)

We visited as a family to do the Alcatraz escape room as a weekend activity. The set style and design was fantastic, the game play engaging and the whole experience was absolutely brilliant! Luke, our warden, was great fun and really played up to his role. We will definitely be visiting again!

Fantastic venue and awesome staff - we thoroughly enjoyed the Titanic and Alcatraz escape rooms. My colleagues and I died gruesome deaths and we couldn’t have been happier about it. Much appreciation to the guys who kindly fixed my booking after I botched it, and big thanks to Luke, our formidable warden, for bringing the whole thing to life. We’ll be back after the bardo!

Room was huge, really well set out, fun puzzles. Done a lot of escape rooms and was really impressed. We did the room 13 and it was very creepy. Shout out to Angel a great games master!

Kitty was really friendly and she helped us out a lot when things didn’t always work in the rooms. Lots of rooms made the experience quite exciting but the communication between the rooms was often a bit difficult. Kitty was great in helping us when communicating was hard. Well done Kitty.

Just finished the Titanic themed room and we loved it. Our group of 5 was the perfect size, and 3 had never done an escape room before. There was enough for everyone to do and get stuck into, whatever their ability level. Our game master Luke was friendly and super helpful, helping us where we got a little stuck or needed some help. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go again to do one of the other rooms they have.
