Edward Bulmer Natural Paint

Used Edward Bulmer cuisse de nymphe paint for my lounge and am now planning to use their paints in every room. Absolutely love it - the colours beautiful, coverage incredible and the finish somehow looks perfect even though I'm a complete novice painter. Also has no smell so didn't even need to air the place out after. It's made the experience of painting my first home a joy. Thank you also to Claire from their team for being so helpful and answering my questions about potential colour combinations! Can't wait to finish the flat now!

I'm very impressed with Edward Bulmer Natural Paint. I've had excellent advice on colours for several rooms from Emma Bulmer who's been kindness itself. The sample jars arrived super fast and the paint colours and texture are lovely. At every level the customer service has been outstanding. I'm so pleased I found this paint company and wish them every success with their natural paint. They deserve it!

Fabulous Breathable paint. I used 2 pallet loads of their basic white for a 7 bedroom Georgian farmhouse renovation. Lovely to work with and excellent coverage. I have also used some of the beautiful colours as I need breathability with the lime plaster. Cannot fault it, totally recommend!

Amazing colours, but we found the paint totally unusable. It is sooooo thin and requires so many coats, and even though we had bought a lot and spent a fortune, we realised immediately it would need 4 or more coats and we simply didn’t have the energy or funds. Such a shame as I love the colour, but application was worst I’ve ever tried.

We were lucky enough to buy our dream 18th century farmhouse last year. We decided that decoration would be done using suitably premium paints. After much market research and many sample pots from various suppliers we chose Edward Bulmer natural paint, both for the undoubted quality and also the colour palette on offer.We have so far used Lead White for all the walls in the office / library and in our most recent project, Tyrian, Ochre and Spanish White for the lounge. Before & after pictures of the lounge are attached.We are now firm Edward Bulmer converts & there are already samples on the walls of the kitchen, utility & boot room for us to ponder until the new year.I don't hesitate to recommend them.

Beautiful paint colours (if you’re not looking for anything very saturated or dark) but I have several issues. The first is the ridiculous length of time it takes to deliver samples- I don’t understand why every other paint company can get them to me next day (mylands) or day after (F&B, little greene, etc) but I have to wait 7 working days for delivery in London?! It’s so irritating and massively inconvénient. Neither is there a next day delivery option for full tins.My second issue is the quality of the eggshell- it’s not very durable, and can only be painted on raw wood- customer service suggested I colour match if I needed to paint onto a previously painted/ primed surface. I understand this is because the formulation is plant based but it’s annoying.Thirdly- I sampled 6 different whites and none of them had good opacity- they needed at least 3 coats and no one has time for that.Overall I’d recommend the paint for walls. I used 4 different colours in the house and they’re all absolutely gorgeous, and nice quality. Don’t bother with the whites, be aware of the eggshell’s limitations and expect to wait forever for samples.

I’m a regular DIY-er, not a professional, but have used a lot of different brands of I paint over the years. Order was Dispatched within 36hours, which was incredible as they were about to shut for Christmas holidays. The colour (pippin 40%) was rich and fresh looking, exactly like the tester pot. Spanish white looked a bit dirty next to the old pure white of the ceiling but once the whole ceiling was covered with new paint, it looked really warm and clean. Went on pretty easily. a couple of episodes of lifting/dragging the paint if I went over too many times with roller/brush but got used to avoiding that quickly. Only needed two coats overall for the coloured paint and only one coat for the Spanish white, and the paint went a bit further than I thought it would too. Smell not like normal paint, not unpleasant at all, and very short lived smell, was all gone within a few hours. Really pleased with my overall experience with EB natural paints.

This paint was recommended to me by an interior designer and I’m absolutely delighted with the result. Customer Services are extremely helpful, delivery was very quick and the choice of colours is fantastic! I ordered a few samples to get the right colour and checked the coverage details. My decorator loved it - easy to apply and went much further than expected! We used the plaster primer, grip coat primer, emulsion and eggshell. These paints don’t smell and look great!

What’s not to love about this paint...at last a truly natural alternative to modern acrylic paints. I am obsessed with ‘Invisible Green’ and ‘Jonquil’ and in fact all of the colours, they are so soft and matt. Just such a bonus that there are no nasties or microplastics and all in no more than two coats. The colour advice and customer service was very helpful. We will be painting the rest of the house now, cannot recommend these paints enough.
