The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa

Second time I have stayed here and it’s always a pleasure. Plenty of parking at the front and on entering the hotel there is a small reception. Staff are always very polite and obviously well trained in their role.Rooms are beautiful and there is lots of options in the offered facilities.There is a lovely restaurant and bar here too.Definitely give it a shot and try one of the suites for a room if available.

The hotel is in a nice setting in llangollen. However we were part of a wedding party and disappointing that rooms where not ready for checkin. The room was not cleaned to a high standard. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.The staff were pleasant enough however only one person ran the bar. There was clearly a shortage of staff. Felt the room was rather expensive.

Had a lovely afternoon at the spa today with my Mum for a birthday treat, we had a fantastic massage and afternoon tea, now feeling very relaxed. Thank you all for the excellent service we received.

Stopped for Sunday launch, roast beef, huge Yorkshire pudding, very nice and clean, very helpful, polite and friendly staff, loads of easy parking, been meaning to stop there for some time, was not disappointed, very well priced, two cause Sunday roast under £23.00, will definitely call again.

Just what we wanted for an additional night in Llangollen. Our room was clean and we specifically asked for a quiet room; we got given a room overlooking the small garden which was amazing. Bed was super comfy. The location is ideal for walking into the town centre (visit the Corn Mill if you can). Our stay also came with a free 1 hour visit to the spa area, which was lovely. Will definitely be back.

We had afternoon tea in the restaurant on 19th may. Good service from when we walked in as we didn't know where we were going by all the staff,nothing too much trouble. Polite staff at all times. The food was really good and looked well presented. Very relaxing atmosphere on a nice sunny day. Easy to get to and plenty of parking for free. Asked the bar staff if we could leave the car for the afternoon while we walked into the town save trying to park and they said yes no problem which was good.

Disastrous!!!!!! We had booked a 2 night Winter Warmer which included, bed, breakfast and 2 days Welsh cream teas, a birthday treat from my husband, we were late arriving due to work commitments and had missed our cream tea, on enquiring if we could have the cream tea on the day we left - we were told with hardly a thought, NO the hotel couldn't do that! Our room was situated at the back of the hotel and was very dark, no phone, no fridge, the bed was hard and the pillows even harder resulting in 2 nights of poor sleep, the pipes were noisy and the toilet roll couldn't be reached from the toilet??? With reference to the restaurant, where do I start - you have to book for both breakfast and dinner, and were made to feel like naughty children if you were late, why I don't know as only one third of the tables were taken, and the staff were more intent on laying the vacant tables than taking care of people already dining, the menu for dinner was the same each day and the food was not great, at breakfast the hot water for the tea & coffee was not boiling, and the bread for toasting was not covered and the crusts were curling up, and any extras at dinner were extremely expensive. The spa was good and would have been even better for a good clean, but I cannot fault my facial and massage they were great and very professional. Is it worth writing a review? I hope so, because if The Wild Pheasant doesn't get it's act together another hotel will be closing in the beautiful Llangollen

The people give you a feeling of quality, once the food comes out you realise why! The food no matter your choice is small but packed with flavours that makes your senses explode. The rooms are nice and I cant rave about how good the food was, I'm thinking about it right now and it's making me hungry.

More of a pleasant pheasant, than a wild one.This is a charming hotel and spa is a short walk into the main town. The parking is free and plentiful. The setting of the hotel is beautiful.The best thing about this hotel is the amazing welcoming staff who were professional, interpersonal and nothing was too much, a lot of other hotels could learn a lot from the staff at the Wild Pheasant.The quality of the overall hotel is good but a little shabby, it would benefit from higher management hiring a consultant to look at the details of this hotel with fresh eyes as there are a so many inexpensive, easy fixes and changes in dated processes that would elevate this hotel spa to its deserved potential. It is clear that this was once a very prestigious venue but it has lost its sense of direction.The food options, menu and quality of ingredient was poor and an overpriced tourist trap. I would encourage guests to book at the Corn Mill in the town in advance of arriving as its busy or check out the plentiful array of local independents that have the charm and food quality that the Wild Pheasant would benefit from exploring.We stopped in one of the suites and it was spacious and lovely. I would stay here again
